This game was pretty fucking sick.
>Awesome bosses
>Multiple bimoes and areas
>REX fights
>Huge action set pieces
>Best MGS1 easter egg
>Tight linear level design with decent platforming
>Gameplay and gadget improvements
>Stick atmosphere
I liked it. Better than MGSV.
Only problem is half your time is spent on cutscenes. Hell, you're not even trying to stealth past enemies, you're trying to stealth past triggering the next cutscene.
The game had so many weapons for absolutely no reason.
Oh you Kojima

It only had two proper chapters each an hour long, everything else was some kind of gimmick. But yeah, it was a good game, I regret giving it so much shit at the time considering what a piece of shit MGSV was.

I guarantee people will talk similarly about V once everyone gets over equating "disappointing" with "bad", aided by the inevitable release of Konami's attempt at a non-kojima mainline MGS.
>go to the midnight launch for MGS4
>get home and be greeted with a hefty install before even playing the game
>not even mad beause the loading screen is mother fucking Solid Snake nonchalantly smoking the entire time
>read through the instruction manual which was in full color and had a mini comic explaining MGO
i do wish there were more meat and potatoes to mgs4 but all in all it's stil v fun. MGO was fun af in its day, too.
I dunno, MGS boss battles have always been kind of lack luster. But goddamn that final fight was fucking amazing.

Gee, I'm glad you're learning from your mistakes

the shame about it is that only the first 2 chapters are the real best parts of the game.
stealthing through shadow moses is tough but its al robots, and you only stealth through outer heaven for 5 mins before you are treated to a massive cutscene/ghekko combo battle.
I love the game, just think it was a bit optimistic, like all mgs games from 3 we didn't get what we expected watching trailers before release
