Peter Molyneux is one of the first ones that comes to mind.
He was one of the people who defined the "god" strategy game style. He was responsible for fantastic games like Dungeon Keeper 1,2. It was all downhill after dungeon keeper every game he created after that starting with Black and White he overhyped and failed to come close to delivering on his promises. He's fallen so far from grace he's had to resort to kickstarter and even then he's still up to his old tricks with Godus.
