From what I've seen, you have that reversed.
Most VIIfags just keep to themselves and almost never start fights. Last time I saw VIIfags shit on another game was around 2007-2009. Meanwhile, even when nobody even brought up VI, somebody has to be all "Kefka is the best JRPG villain evar! Sephiroth suks!"

I know the monster hunts add lots of content and give you things to do however an RPG without final FINAL boss and an endegame dungeon is like a pizza without any toppings...

Were the people who helmed FFXII's production, deliberately sidelined after the game's release? The last time Yasumi Matsuno worked on a game for a home video game console was last decade with MadWorld. Since then he's only worked on games for handheld consoles and smartphones. Hiroyuki Ito has pretty much only had any significant involvement in smartphone games since FFXII, though he's gotten a few special mentions in credits over the years. Minagawa has been involved in some major projects since FXII, such as being on the team that developed FXIII's game engine, and then later he would be called in to fix the UI of FFXIV. But since his work with FFXII he hasn't gotten to work on a home video console in a key creative position.

How's the soundtrack? I've only played mainline FF's with Uematsu being the main composer (that is, 4-10) and can't imagine FF without his music.
It's literally the only thing keeping me from playing this game. I want to listen to a memorable soundtrack instead of your typical orchestrated "epic" music that is indistinguishable from other games.
