I recently got the chance to look around NOA's building, completely unsupervised, and found quite a lot of interesting information. Specifically, on how Nintendo thinks of it's fans.

Simply put, Nintendo does not even consider people who cry on message boards, particularly sites like NEOgaf, /v/, or Gamefaqs as being part of their audience. Rather, they assume that that demographic, for the most part, whines about games they do not play. They really don't take the complaints about Star Fox Zero, Color Splash, or Tokyo Mirage Sessions seriously at all. Actual feedback they get from real consumers is quite different than the crying you see online.

In reality, Sticker Star is actually quite popular among older fans who lead busy, interesting lives. Famous artists and writers in particular, a lot of whom claim that they're buying Wii U's for this one game.

Nintendo is very pleased, and had Color Splash made for this demographic. Nintendo has a very strict 'anti manchildren' policy right now, and is really looking into making video games more sophisticated and interesting, and Color Splash seems to be doing a great job of that.
>>
So was that information just lying around printed on random paper around nintendo offices?

Someone made a giant Paper Mario tapestry and sent it in to them. It prominently features Stickers. There was also a number of letters from fans, some polls they conducted (NOT just the infamous Japanese one, but from several different locations and demographics) and it's pretty clear that Sticker Star is up and away the most popular Paper Mario game ever.

They should be listening to numbers and sales. You don't mention that anywhere in your post.

If anything, they consider YouTube to be the worst ,since they can actually remember who specific users are and what they believe the company should do. They REALLY don't like TheBitBlock, for example, and making fun of him and his fans is a bit of a joke among the company. Even Trinen makes fun of him.

>>337368387
If they listened to sales, they would have made a Super Paper Mario sequel. Instead they saw that people missed the turn based combat, and brought it back for Sticker Star, while giving the franchise a new focus on adventuring around the world. What they're really interested is making a franchise that people respond really well to, and that's exactly what Sticker Star did.

Nintendo dosent even want to sell games to the only consumer group that still buys their games.
Failed company, better save up for a new PC/PS4 instead of NX.

I'm working on finding a way a publish it online. I have the information, I just want to make sure that it can't be traced back to me.

I can tell you that Nintendo isn't planning on 'saving' the Wii U. Rather, they are just going to co develop games for Wii U and NX, their new handheld, going forward.

>>337369254
People who actually play the games. Nintendo quickly made changes to Star Fox Zero when they realized fans didn't like the textures and the removal of smart bombs, but did not change the controls specifically because they knew that the people whining didn't play it correctly. That's the kind of mindset they have with Sticker Star's detractors, they know they are casual fans who just want a Mario Storybook with no real meat to it, and disregard them because of it.

Nintendo simply doesn't take you seriously if you go into a game expecting to hate it, in other words.
>>
>>337367420
Cool source.

They wouldn't have removed Color Splash, or spent so much time trying to push Federation Force if they didn't care how much people hate them.
>>
>>337367420

It really doesn't matter. Nintendo's audience, no matter the proportional makeup of man-children, "sophisticated" consumers, or little kids who don't have their own money, is basically where it is right now.

It's not going to grow.
>>
Alright, I suppose I could just post a small list of upcoming Wii U software.

Note that all of these games will also see a release on NX, which is why they haven't announced any in quite some time.

Zelda: Rings of Freedom
Yakuza 1 & 2 HD, with a new redubbing that Nintendo paid for themselves. This means that those games will NEVER be on any other platforms again, at least not in English. Nintendo owns the dub. Yakuza 3 will be ported as well, but it may be a NX exclusive. Nintendo DOES want to adjust the original English release as well to incorporate cut content from the Japanese version.
Endless Ocean: Song of the Sea.
Alethea, Retro's new IP. Horror game, about a girl that can turn everyday objects into horrific creatures. It's like Silent Hill for kids, from what I understand. It's rather short, but has lots of secrets, unlockables, and endings.
An episodic Elite Beat Agents game. Essentially, it is a free to start game where Nintendo charges you to play each scenario. This will allow the title to be constantly updated for quite some time. Over 30 songs are already finished, and there are plans to have constant updates. I don't know anything about this series, but it exists!

You mean an anti-profits policy? Nigger, that's their audience. How else do you think Splatoon went triple platinum? And going out of your way to trigger the only people who buy your games as we all know soccer moms and their kids have long since migrated to candy crush? Not smart, treehouse shill. The pedos and the autistic msnchildren are literally the only reason you're relevant right now. You owe them quite a lot.

Either this sells well enough and becomes the new standard for Paper Mario.

>>
Does Nintendo at least realize the Wii U was a failure?
>>
The trick is to be genuine with this stuff OP.
>>
>>337376186

I'd say so. Here's the thing though, bouncing back from a failure takes time if you want to do it right. I want to believe that the reason Nintendo's output is so sketchy as of late is because they're putting their real talent to task on NX while smaller/younger teams take on WiiU titles in the interim. Now that NX is coming to fruition fairly soon, that might be why what support WiiU has managed to maintain is falling through the cracks now. I want to believe that Nintendo is smart enough to know that WiiU was a bust and that they need to bounce back with a vengeance. It's not even wholly optimism that makes me say that, it's just that Nintendo would straight up be intelligent to do this.
>>
>>337367420
Nice story OP. I'd love to see some sources to go with that.
>>
>>337376186
Oh, no. They don't consider it a failure at all. They're very happy with the console itself and want to keep supporting the ideas they put forward with it. However, they need to finish their plan to make game journalists irrelevant first before making new announcements for the platforn.
