If anything, it being out of game has a lot of new advantages such as not needing to boot the game up to see if your favourite servers are being played. Or if you have to wait in a queue when a server is full, you can just join the queue and do shit until the game pops up.

with dedicated servers you eliminate the isntability of peer to peer networking, Peer to peer networking means someone on the team has to bear the load of the game.
if someone has really bad connection the game will be laggy as fuck, and since someone in the game is "hosting" their actions will register first before anyone elses, and if they leave the entire match will stop and look for someone else to host for half a minute or so.
With dedicated servers the game isn't reliant on a player hosting the entire game which allows for more stability, game customization options, and everyone being one a more even playing field
