I don't get Blizzard. With the subs being so low they don't even report them any more, surely they've noticed that the beginning of the sub decline coincided with them making a bunch of streamlining design choices, and that the one thing they need to do is revert all those choices or straight up offer legacy servers from before they fucked it up. But instead with WoD and now Legion they're doubling down and going even harder with the casual streamlining shit like Garrisons (now called Order Halls) and every paladin getting an Ashbringer, not to mention the year of no content between the content patch and the next expansion. For a company so legendarily money-grubbing (pay for the game, pay for expansions, pay for subs, pay for server transfers, etc) you'd think they'd notice why they're making so much less money from WoW than they used to.

I remember back in the day (2004-2008) every single server was at *RED* status for population size. There was maybe 1 or 2 *GREEN* status servers, out of hundreds of full servers.

There was also certain problems at the start, it's the reason the wrath paper item with the ghost got nerfed. Apparently there were so many of those around that it was eating up server space. Pretty sure blizzard took a crash course on, "oh fuck people actually are back" when WoD released, not entirely sure if they were getting ddosed at the start.

Bullshit lol, they afk in their garrisons becuase everything can be done within their garrisons. Profs, quests, garrisons missions, can be done in their garrisons. Even earning gold you don't have to leave your garrison. There are blatent reasons why the world is dead compared to what it use to be and garrisons do not help that at all.

Nope, you can create specific epic items now which can be upgraded using similar crafted items to upgrade their ilvls. Good for boosting ilvl, as well as they can used as lower levels, from 90 I think onwards, having a crazy strong weapon or trinket for example for levelling . as well as profs give items for different garrison buildings like the auctioneer . Profs are a lot different now , but still usefull in some parts

Also yeah, WotLK had the highest numerical sub count, but its rate of growth (the slope) was almost 0. People were leaving the game almost as fast as newer players were joining.
