Is it not a masterpiece?
No video game is a masterpiece, certainly not one on the n64.
It was a fun, mediocre platformer with nice themes, levels and juvenile humor and the collectathon kept you interested but otherwise it isn't even a 9/10.

I actually get excited when I see Banjo-Kazooie and I have lots of fun with it so yes, I would consider it a masterpiece.

BK was one of my favorite games growing up. I realize though, that it has flaws I cannot see through my nostalgia goggles.
