it tried and failed to bring the king's field experience, it was a great game on its own, but dark souls 1 did it much better.
i still wish they would have kept it in first person. oh well. here's hoping the next game is KF5 since dark souls is officially over.

but DaS had the interconnected world and the earlygame feels really similar, and DaS has WAYYY more references.
DeS only had the large sword of moonlight in terms of KF references as far as i remember.
God damn I love DeS. All the references in DaS3 just made me feel empty inside though. I would kill to play a complete edition of DeS.

Turn around each and every corner at least slightly cautiously.
Try to manage your armor so that your roll is somehow fast.
Do not hit the fucking NPC's in the hub. Don't even accidentally fall on them from a centimeter's height.
Then just pretty much get used to the mechancis and have fun. Don't read guides unless you're stuck for weeks.

I read that if you have a <50% equip load, when the dragon breathes fire from the right side to the left side (he goes left to right, then right to left) immediately sprint up the stairs and you should make it, even if it looks like you should totally have been roasted, worked for me

The thing about DeS is its a great game but it shows that it was the first time for them, With the annoying upgrade system for weapons with millions of diffrent stones, to generally boring boss fights. Dont get me wrong one of the coolest fights of all souls games has to be Storm King. And who can forget "Penetrator"
I would buy a PS4 right now for a PS4 of Demon's Souls in 60 FPS at 1080p

DeS boss fights are amazing the first time through but the only ones that truly stand out are False King, Lurker, Maneaters, Old Monk, and arguably Astraea.
Everyone else either has an extremely simple gimmick or is completely unmemorable. It's not that they're bad it's just that they lose their magic after you know exactly how to deal with them.
Why was their literally no point in ever going pure black tendency?
Everything good for every build was in pure white and pure black only added extra hp to enemies and the occasional fuck you black phantom enemy.

I must argue against calling Maneaters. My experince with them everytime I do a run in that game. We hover 90% of the time casting some shitty magic at you without you being able to hit back (if you dont go soul ray get rekt run)

It's still a challenging fight either way unless you cheese them. There's no gimmick to them unless you count there being two of them is one.
Plus, them flying around all the time with their eyes glowing and the music booming adds the most amount of "atmosphere" in any of these bossfights were the anxiety and the fear of falling off the catwalk constantly keeps you unnerved.
I actually bought DeS about 1 month ago cheap as fuck and I'm looking forward to playing it. Currently playing through Ratchet & Clank Collection and Shadow of the Colossus, but once I'm done I'm playing DeS
