I liked it, it was a good, but short game. 10 bucks was definitely the right price for what it was. My favorite part was the deep attention to details. It's obvious Toby put a lot of love and effort into the game, and has a lot of love for video games in general.

Not a fan of the gameplay. Bullet hell type of games don't do it for me, even if this one was particularly easy. Music is pretty good, story is alright, characters are also just kind of alright. I enjoyed the small attentions to detail everywhere. Liked playing through it twice, probably won't do so again.
Least we got Muffet out of it.

I really liked it. Thanks to just how much I dislike open world games, it even beat out Witcher 3 for my GotY.
I liked it. There was a lot of thought put into it, it felt like everything in the game fit together and had a reason to be there.

It was fun. The final ending had me shed a tear, really nice stuff even with the whole overdone power of friendship shit.
Second best game that year, behind MH4U. Ambitious, excellent music design, and engaging gameplay. The story is easily the best one I've ever seen in a video game, and the metanarrative is amazing, too. Solid 10/10.

Emotional manipulation done well. That's not a negative interpretation--the whole point of media as a whole is to manipulate your emotions in some way, so you care. Undertale just appealed to more people in the way it did things. It invested you in its characters. Made some of the more easily-influenced folks feel as if they had friends. Took them away, let you save them.
It's super basic, but as we've seen, enormously effective. The fanbase is really the only issue I have with Undertale's inception, but that doesn't say anything about the game itself. The game is fine, if nothing truly special.
I did play it, the whole thing. It's a meh game. Wouldn't recommend it to anyone. I hate bullet hells. It's a cute indie game with fake pixel art with an amazing soundtrack.
Oh, and I also hated the bullshit about having to take a beating without doing anything = being good. Letting someone beat you up over and over until they realize that's not very nice is not how I would handle things. I think the game tried to make me feel guilty for killing shit, but I don't know, I never felt anything. Althou, I didn't kill the spooderlady, she was cute.

It was a mediocre 7-8/10 game. Music was by far and away the strongest point for it.
I still feel bad for Toby having to deal with the absolutely cancerous fanbase though.
I was hooked when I was able to try out the demo. The final product left a lot to be desired, but it was short and sweet so it didn't outstay its welcome. I can see how 90% of the general population of anywhere will fucking hate this game with a passion, so I can only blame the fanbase for blowing it so out of proportion. Good on the developer for finding a goldmine, though.

It has some good and bad aspects but overall I didn't care for it much. I felt the characters could of been a bit more fleshed out and I didn't enjoy the jokey way it makes fun of internet culture. Also the art was kinda disappointing, some of it was decent or pretty but other stuff was real ugly. Stilk the music was very good.

I've beaten every mainline game as well as Demi-Fiend in DDS, and Undertale is still amazing. Ffffffaggot.
It's a very good game, and one of my favorites.
However it has glaring flaws in that Toby does not let a mediocre joke go sometimes, it borrows from its inspirations to a fault, a bit of a lack in development in Hotland, and a few others. There are minor gripes like a need for a sped-up walk at least in the epilogue and stuff like that.
That said its a product of love and does a lot of cool things. Toby managed to slip a joke or consequence for every offhand decision the player could conceivably make. The music is fantastic, and my weakness for heavy use of leitmotifs helps it even more. Even though it's too easy most of the time, the battle gameplay is a cool concept and is creatively used for each encounter. The storytelling and plot are pretty dang good too.
Objectively I'd give it about an 8/10, but it's probably my second or third favorite game.
