Super Monday Night Combat. Was a true moba shooter, makes Battleborn look like absolute dogshit. Fucking idiot devs let this game die. It was actually ahead of its time. If it came out today, I feel like it would have done so much better. People thought it was gonna replace TF2 when in fact they were going for a shooter/moba hybrid. The original MNC was fun too, but I spent more time on SMNC. God damn Uber Entertainment for abandoning this amazing game. Wish Valve would pick it up.

SMG all the way m8. Best Proxy loadout is the one with an SMG and machine pistol, it means you can switch weapons and maintain constant bullet spray for a good length of time.

The only shotgun I use is for aura as her best loadout has it.

Aim, movement and awareness matters tons as opposed to overwatch, and while the game does have several i-win buttons its still nothing compared to ow.


Its not a particularly good game but it is a far more solid shooter than any of these fps-dota wannabes are.

There'll be a small percentage of players who are better than anyone, a large percentage of players who fill up most matches but just fuck around and fail and will never get better before moving on.
And theres the midground who are all seemingly better than anyone in 90% of matches while shit everywhere else.

I play DB regularly and I was laser tracking with Zarya well enough to get bitched at. What I like about DB most are the quotes. I love how you can enter a quickchat command and there are multiple lines for most of the commands besides the special taunts. Hearing Redeye, Sparks, Bushwhacker, etc. randomly talk a whole lot of shit for a one word command makes me smile.

I think Phantom gets by well enough in pugs. It's just a problem when people can see you from a mile away when you're standing still with your cloak on. Some people can't see you if you're still crouching and others pinpoint you like a hawk no matter the distance without any Recon. I mainly just use his cloak as an extra shield so I can lineup headshots easier if it's one of those hawkeyes.

It's too bad DB couldn't have been handled by better devs. It's a real waste that Shit Damage happened to be the ones developing it. This game has been in "beta" for years. There were betas where you could play the very same mercs that only got recently released. Pretty much all of the mercs have been done for years. As far as maps go, there has actually been negative progress if you think about it. Most of the main maps have had several sections REMOVED and Dome sucks.

Every time I think of Dirty Bomb, I think of what could've been. Imagine if it were a 30 dollar title with no unlocks, more maps, player hosted servers, and mod support. Splash Damage gets undue credit for W:ET. They only added onto what the RtCW devs created. Fuck this gay Earth. How could a company have made so little progress in all these years? What have they been doing besides working on that Gear of War port?

I got lucky on PS3. Managed to join a 12v12 once that was literally utter chaos. It didn't help that my internet was complete dogshit at the time, so everyone was teleporting all over the place, and I only managed about 3 kills before the match ended. Still one of the most fun games I had ever played online.

I also tried getting into that bamco made anarchy reigns wannabe game, Rise of the Incarnates or whatever it's called.

It's user base feels to me like it's euro-centric so it's not that bad. The game itself tries to keep players in the gameworld sparse except in hubs, to keep things atmospheric, so it feels like there's no one, hence the need to be in a chat channel or a guild.

The only down side is she's more squishy than the other two.
I can understand still playing Red Eye because his smoke gives good cover, but Vasili is a fucking joke now.

Also a reason why I think bomb squad is such an underrated perk. Not only can you see mines bright as day through walls, you can see grenades as they're being thrown/launched from Nader, Fragger, and Fletcher (giving away their position).

None of the characters are cancer, just the players. Snipers tend to camp back and be completely useless the entire game. A good Vassili who can aim is golden, but that's the 1% who rarely pug.

Fletcher makes Proxy completely unviable since he can kill her long before she has enough reach to have a fast enough TTK to prevent the sticky from instantly killing her even with headshots. Fletcher basically fucks over anyone 90 health or below because he can lob grenades in areas and angles where the opponent can't do shit besides pray his aim sucks.

So you're admitting a good Sniper is strong? You counter snipers by not going the way they're cutting off or concealing yourself. Most snipers are ass so you can usually just strafe and avoid getting hit in the head.

What. I main shotgun proxy and I can two shot Fletcher with Hollunds or kill him from far away with MP400. Mobility is key. Sure you can die from some random explosives, but even in tight corridors you can still move erratically enough and jump on walls that you can survive 1vs1 with most classes.

The other two characters I main are Kira and Aura so basically I'm playing glass cannons but Fletcher is easy modo to counter. On the other hand I can't counter Fraggers, they just have too much HP and babby-tier spammy guns.

I reliably kill most snipers even on the long range with BR-16 and Blishlok, they never expect people to fire back at them. Oh, orbital laser is great too.

They pulled a Mightly No. 9 before that was even a thing. They were making comics and trying to get a TV show before the game was finished.

Then they ruined the game's interface to look like an Iron Man HUD.

They took one of the most brilliant and slick tutorials and replaced it with an X-Men Danger room thing that takes almost 30 mins.

Then, THEN they made the game play faster which turned it into CoD with mechs. That was the worst offense, speeding up the gameplay and movement.

Final piece on the shit cake was removing the physical HUD because they could not be bothered to optimize it cause "performance issues". Don't worry! Just throw a Iron Man thing where the good HUD used to be!

I made a post early on about Dirty Bomb being able to overcome poor design if they created a product and culture within the game to foster attachment to it.

The game is sterile and has no character. It claims to defy modern shooters while exhibiting their music and aesthetic. I threw this Crossfade together 2 years ago I think. I synced it up nice too.

The game needed to focus on creating an identity to go along with its gameplay. The identity it has now is "dead game with broke everything". I wanted it to be something a bit more smash mouth and crass.

What a shame.

Well, snipers in Dirty Bomb absolutely suck at close quarters and quickscoping isn't really a thing for some reason, even at point blank range. That or I just mow them down so quickly.

Redeye and Aimee can wield non-scoped battle rifles so you can pretty much use them as mobile spotters, but because most characters move so fast it's hard to master semi-auto rifles like Dreiss or Grandeur because of high recoil. Might be I just suck though, I find burst-fire to be the best of both worlds.

If you're talking about Overwatch... I think it's a meme game and I hope it will die. I know it won't because Blizzard, but I hope it will.

I played very little with the snipers in the game, I truly fucking hate doing something that is not absolutely the best I can for victory, and since I don't have perfect aim or anywhere near it a sniper class is basically where I'm the most useless, not to mention also most bored.

I do have to say I love burst fire in DB, I hated it in nearly all other games but DB was able to snag it right where it should be, not too weak and not too strong.

I played a lot of tribes again in January. Looking back at it, Tribes ascend was a pretty fundamentally flawed game. Flag drag makes the game slower, but without it, flag cappers would just be literally impossible to chase. They could just ski around in the outer reaches of the map and no one besides snipers would be able to answer them. Chases are exciting and fun but without flag drag they just don't happen. You can either turtle the fuck out of your flag to the point where capping is impossible, but if the flag IS grabbed, then it's worthless to try to chase it down, just set up for the next one.
Plus, the entire dynamic of generators involves players willingly entering small cramped environments which tribes isn't really designed around. Not to mention camping with the flag in the generator room. I guess tribes has the reputation (meme) of "going fast" but really only one role in that game is supposed to do that. I guess you COULD just play rabbit, but people gravitate towards ctf because that feels like the definitive playmode.
Personally, I'd like to see them try a mode with one flag in the center of the map that both teams want to bring to their base. Or maybe even something weird like a capture point conquest gamemode like a battlefield game?
Or they could just give up. They had a TON of hype back in 2011, 2012 but that's basically all died at this point.

I kinda disagree because most (if not all) non-sniper classes have two more well-rounded offensive weapons (burst/auto rifles, shotguns, pdws, pistols) and melee on top of that, so even when they run out of ammo they can quickly switch to sidearms and keep the pressure going, snipers on the other hand can only use weaker sidearms and, unless they have kukri, they're too slow to make a good use of melee.

SMNC had a fucking TON of depth, the game was great. Every character had 2 guns unique to them, 3 abilities that worked off cool down, different movement speeds, multiple different grabs, different healths, some had deployables and deployed modes.

It was so fun getting into intense 1 on 1 fights with people. It was always super rewarding to kill an Assassin or a Sparks player, those faggots acted like their class took so much skill when they had amazing damage, speed, and escapes.

I'm pretty sure I was the best Combat Girl in that game, she was so fucking strong in the late game it was nuts.

To save myself typing everything I have ever said on the game again, I could just give my reddit posts to you. I made a reddit account to help test the Tribes patch way back in Sept.

The short of it is: The Tribes community have their heads up their asses and are smug fuck head.

Tribes never took off as an IP because of how flawed it was and how hard it was to balance. The first 2 games alone created two completely different experiences that divided the community.

Spending time on the Tribes subreddit showed me that all the community wants is Tribes 2, when that is a selfish and stupid approach. To influence the developers to remake a game that failed spectacularly. If I recall my numbers right, Tribes 2 only sold 200,000 copies before it left store shelves.

"Remove flag drag and speed caps!"

You cannot do this, it is bad game design.

"I WANT IT! ITS JUST NOT FUN WITHOUT IT!"

So in my best efforts I tried to influence the game using a progressive ideology of making a game that can persist outside the exclusive Tribes community. Deaf ears because of nepotism and exclusivity/inner circle crap.

I really wish the Conquest mode in Tribes was played more, it just didn't get any attention.

Hi-Rez stated they were working on a new game mode to bring in new players and keep them. I hope that hasn't been dropped.

Removing classes was the best thing to happen to Tribes Ascend, but there are people who do not like change. Again something I wrote about, but is lengthy and Im not posting that again here.

Tribes could have lived if people weren't so petty and Hi-Rez were such arrogant assholes who shit on the community publicly. It could have lived if they didn't suck so bad at game design.

The extreme amount of grind needed at release and actual lack of content killed it on top of Nexon US being shit (EU didn't have much problems). Fletcher a shit.

The trouble with Fletcher is that you can't detonate shit when you're dead, so you need to play really cautiously to use your sticky bombs effectively, which in turn means that going for objectives isn't as easy.

I like Proxy because although you're squishy, you can easily rush objectives thanks to your speed, and do things like suicide mines to blast through enemy groups. Combine that with the try hard perk that can give you 110 health and suddenly you can make things really difficult for the enemy.

Steel Ocean. Basically the game that World of Warships should have been. But the chink devs didn't bother promoting it at all and left it to slowly sink into obscurity like what happened to NF2. A bunch of anons still stick to it because nobody wants to go back to WoWS, but the game becomes 3v3 starting from tier VI and high tiers are completely dead or dominated by Chinese doomstacks looking for easy prey after getting stomped on the Chinese server. Only viable for clanfagging anymore.

Hirez sure has its own share of fault, since they didn't have any clear idea on what to do beside "It's gonna be F2P, we gotta have something there to get money from impatient fools" and no ability in working on the UE3 well enough to make decent and meaningful changes to the game (stuff like physics, possible private server, support, even mapping), but yeah, the audience was not good at all. No it didnt. It was launched with vista. What broke it was M$ putting PC nerf patches only to just screw PC players up, like limiting our weapons, removing out of program mouse speeds then lowering the ingame mouse speed to extremely low levels so we couldnt look around as fast, removing the mouse wheel as a weapon switch option and hard locking it to a single key and other 'nerfs' to put us on par with their console part so cross platform wouldnt fail.

Its the same reason halo 3 PC only got to internal alpha that lasted 1 weekend (they got actual halo 3 pros on console to fight every day PC players on the PC port as it was going to be cross platform) and the pro's lost almost every single game. M$ was afraid that if the live kiddies found out that the PC players were winning 95% of the matches, they wouldnt pay for live. So it got canned, as well as GFWL gold (no one was actually buying it and the big push they had/were going to have was cross platform play and halo 3's cross platform play).

M$ didnt /kill/ cross platform via GFWL per se, but they didnt support it at all internally and any dev willing to do it got the old 2008 code that was never updated or touched, so they had to actually fix it themselves. This is why the ONLY game who used it post m$ killing it was blublaze.
