like all consoles, it holds back gaming as a whole and fucks the consumer without giving any benefits (the times where consoles had a computational edge over PC inherent in their gaming-focused design are long over). The modern consoles are closer to PCs than they ever were (meaning porting should be trivial), yet for some reasons, there are still exclusive titles, and if you want to play them, you're forced to get one. I assume Sony only allows developers a game on their platform when they get exclusivity, something that is now reasonably attractive for developers, not because PC has done bad in any way during the last few years, but because of Microsoft's *incredible* fuckup with the Xbox One (does anybody take it seriously?). During PS3/Xbox360 area, producing an exclusive wasn't very attractive, because *both* major consoles were actually significant. As a developer, you wanted your game on the PS3 *and* the Xbox 360. Not the case anymore, devs/publishers don't mind not releasing on the Xbox One.
Also: You know how they called the PS4 essentially a mid-range computer when it was announced 3 years ago? You know, none of that has magically changed. It's still crap. Actually, it's even more crap now, because the PC ecosystem, unlike consoles, can actually develop and adopt better hard- and software and a mid-range computer 3 years ago is not the same as a mid-range computer today. It will be even crappier in comparison to the next generation of cards (1080 and whatnot).
