So this was released over 20 years ago and it is still by far the best game of it's kind.
Fuck I mean how is that even possible?
I just played Stellaris and it's overall okay, but exceedingly good, just like all other atempts at the 4X genre.
I loved Master of Orion when I was young but now that game is so boring. Planetary developments barely matter and it's just about blobbing until you out blob the AI.
Also best races.

I want to put the Antarans into Stellaris.

Is this... reboot? Remake? Whatever, going to be any good, /v/?
>>337214035
No, from what i played it's literally Civ in space. Very casual

>No gnolams
>No trilarians

Pretty much this. The AI is not very good at keeping up with you, even on the highest difficulties. Also their ship designs suck ass.
The game is excellent on multiplayer, but sometimes a bitch to set up.
But it's still one of the best space 4x ever made, and has laid some great standards for other space 4x games. It's basically the game you compare to a new space 4x game.
The same company also made a pretty good fantasy 4x game called Master of Magic. It's resemblance to civ 1 is uncanny but it had more detailed combat and spells to spice up the gameplay.

That's because it was made by people who worked on civ anon.
