I hate Borderlands, but I can't wait for Overwatch to come to PS4 I want to get this if it's a comparable competitor.

Story mode, while sometimes bullshit, is very replayable, and Incursion is a fun versus mode. When they said each character is different, they mean it. Also the banter between characters has charm to it.

I love the game, it's very high skill, but Gigantic spoiled me. Gigantic is simply a better game, but sadly there isn't a server up for it for now.
Battleborn is really good, but it suffers from poor balance (this is being addressed and devs say this is top priority) and honestly shitty matchmaking. The matchmaking could totally be because the game has only been out for a week, but it still feels bad.
Please know this game takes WAY more skill than Overwatch. Battleborn surprised me how skill intensive it is, you can just straight up outplay people exactly like a moba.
It's literally League of Legends with a high skill ceiling. It's honestly not for the faint of heart despite being a Gearbox game. It has huge potential, but truthfully Ambra, Miko, and Galilea are just pubstomping worse than Bastion.

Outside of galilea not really, the heroes are fairly balanced. Creative director of the game said on stream that numbers indicate the balance is for the most part great and people will see it when they have a better understanding of characters and their counters

I still play Evolve too, tho it's so fucking dead I can't even play Hunt mode anymore only quickmatch. BB has a lot more longetivity than evolve has built in with the progression system. It's seriously the competition with Overwatch's open beta. Battleborn had an open beta so people knew how it played, and due to the (incorrect) parallels drawn between the two, wanted to know how Overwatch played. So when Overwatch's open beta is Battleborn's launch week (no coincidence), people play Overwatch rather than buy Battleborn. With Overwatch's beta ending, we'll start seeing numbers climb on either side.

Apparently BB is outselling Borderlands 1 when it launched and they are getting all their ducks in a row to start doing micro-patches weekly. Gearbox supposively is very happy with how it's doing and they really want to see it succeed in the long term.
I'm honestly completely turned off by playing because Galilea exist and is one of the worst released mobas heroes I've ever seen and I've played almost all the fucking mobas. Tho the devs say Galilea is definitely in her own God Tier at the moment and they plan to knock her down a few knotches to fix this.
I'm going to stick around and watch developement, but I'm not touching the game till Galilea is fixed, seriously it's bad. Makes LoL release Vayne look like a bronze hero.

If you really dislike Borderlands then you should try and gauge your interest in the multiplayer and decide if it's with it from that.
Singleplayer is just a less fun Borderlands. Simple as that.
I really dislike Borderlands as well, but the multiplayer is very different, and a lot of fun. A lot of people liken it to Monday Night Combat, and they're right, so if you ever played and enjoyed that, you'll enjoy the multiplayer. Also, the screen filling particle effect bullshit isn't as bad as it looks.

Gearbox is going to have a lot of work ahead of them. BB is a very advanced game. I was skeptical as hell at first, but it's got the bones to be a great game and even for long term, just need to flesh it out. I really need to see how Gearbox handles patches tho, this game is a Moba straight up, they can't pull some Blizzard every 3 month patches. The meta is going to shift so damn fast and it's going to unearth all kinds of shit. Gearbox has got to stay on top of it.

Overwatch is fucking slow. And I could feel that 20 tick rate so bad. It was really off-putting. It's fun, but I really could not see myself playing it for a long time. I still boot p Titanfall from time to time, I don't see myself doing that with Overwatch. The new Doom beta was more fun to me and it's coming out sooner so I'm going to just grab that and wait for OW to go on sale.

Been really enjoying BB. The multiplayer is a lot of fun, especially if you have a friend to play with. Been playing lots of Ghalt, super satisfying landing hooks into mines - been trying to grind out his lore stuff. Supporting is very rewarding, been playing a bit of Ambra as well, deceptively tanking for a support.
Excited to see where the game goes in the future. Some characters need some tweaks (Gal and ISIC, maybe Marquis) but it is still lots of fun. Like how all of the characters feel quite diverse and play differently.

Overall, I think its got more longevity than its competitors. Its mechanics are far more than meets the eye and half its low playerbase right now can be attributed to its bad marketing and the other half Blizzard actively trying to downplay their release and beta.
Its a fairly solid coop game and its multiplayer is fun. Leveling and whatnot is fairly balanced and compensates for being under leveled as it relies more so on your playing ability than anything else. Your skill is easily the biggest factor as opposed to abilities and whatnot.
A high TTK also emphasizes high amounts of teamwork above all else making communication key.
I mean I could write an entire essay but my point is that Battleborn has a lot more than whats show on its cover or videos. Its fairly advanced in its gameplay and really enjoyable if you like team-based shooters or games with friends

Overwatch's beta is over. Battleborn still has less people playing it than it did yesterday and the day before that. Battleborn will be peaking with sub-5k concurrent players on Steam within a week or two.
I can actually see BB doing fairly well on consoles, though. So definitely get it there if you really want to play it. The exact opposite of Overwatch, where a controller will make some heroes very difficult to play, and it probably won't last long on consoles.

Focus minions, and area lock-down. If you're being pushed use napalm to ensure prevent their retreat to cover your escape. Your best when you focus the objective rather than kills, use your ult especially on elite minions late game or to cover approaches. Dont use your cloak as a getaway tool at close range. Use to cut LOS to approach flanks. Youre still just a tad visible so it works best at a distance is as completely moot against a melee character. Spec shield penetration especially, you'll come in handy late game when players will be low HP but have shields recharged and you can fuck them even if theyve got shields. Oscar Mike has incredibly high damage output but is pretty shit against other heros in 1v1's so again, focus objectives, minions and only really commit to fighting in a teamfight where you wont get concentrated.
Marquis is best used a sniper to pop-shields and destroy emplacements. Its crucial that you retreat at the first sign of someone pushing you as you can easily get jammed into a corner and raped by anyone with an actual weapon. Your pistol is shit so always try to snipe. Spec your Q with speedboost for teammates and pop it at the start of the match after the first initial speed boost so you guys can get map advantage. And use your Q on your position if your start feeling pressure on you. You have insanely high damage output towards mid and late game, you can quite literally become the walking death of the battlefield if you have the right

I think Battleborn has more sustainability than Overwatch. In the long-term is Gearbox is able to support Battleborn and keep things interesting with the free heros and new maps it'll become fairly well-off game. One of the nice things I find about Battleborn is even though ive seen all of these mechanics before in FPS's they got very unique twist to them that really add something new to the gameplay where as in overwatch pretty much all of the gameplay felt run of mill of an FPS. And I actually wish there was cross-platform play, because even though PC players have advantage with accuracy, that only really applies to the ranged characters who relay on absolute accuracy. Theres a fuck to of melee characters who dont need to have 100% accuracy and probably benefit from aim assist and a controller

If he knew where to stand, you wouldn't have been able to do that. The camera is inside of Marquis' head, not his chest, so you're able to peak over certain areas and hit things without being able to be hit yourself.
The stairs on the ledge you can shoot the sentry from are one of them, and a lot of games just end up with 2 Marquis base racing since neither of them can countersnipe. Both of these issues desperately need to be addressed in the first balance hotfix they're pushing.

I was shooting at his hat and nailing him, and then i learned i can in fact hit the Sentry exactly the same way he can. I put pressure on him and he couldn't even come close to nailing our sentry as i pressured both him AND the lane with my team.
