Late to the party, but I just beat Demon's Souls. Very great game. I would like to talk about it if anyone else is down for a Demon's Souls thread.

i mean it's fucking radical
but it's suboptimal
great axe has literally the exact same moveset with the exact same broken roll r1, but it leaves you with more points to put into vit/end after pumping up str

I'm building a Dark Souls character right now, a little sad there is no Temple Knight (maybe my all-time favorite class). Looking at Warrior, Knight, Bandit, Cleric, and Deprived options. I like to create a very robust melee character that can pull out a bow once in a while. I have a Defense-first mentality.

Favorite and hardest bosses?
I just beat it for the first time about a month ago
the final boss was one of the easier bosses in the game, found it really disappointing
not joking about theold crawling joke guy at the very endeither, I mean the guy you fight with his spear that permanently drains your level
not that dark souls was any better here, but at least he had lots of atmosphere and nice music
it was just underwhelming overall really, the game feels so large until it hits you that you've finished three archstones and it's almost up

He's not that tough no, he's more of a "do you realize how to play this game yet?" check. Always leave enough stamina for a roll and you should be able to defeat him easily.
He's a great boss though. I love how he just rushes straight up to your face the minute you enter the arena, and just starts hacking away at you.

Favorite Boss in Demon's Souls... I actually liked the tutorial Vanguard. He's a nice cliche. big hulking beast with an gigantic Axe. Yet very beatable so you feel pretty badass at the start.
Hardest Boss was either False King or Flame Lurker, but I actually beat every boss on the first try except for the Dragon Puzzle boss.
Going back from Bloodborne's combat to Demon's Souls is pretty jarring but the atmosphere is one of the best in the series. The way it makes you feel like youre growing so powerful that you might actually turn into a demon yourself was very resemblant of SotC.
Garl Vinland/Maiden Astrea best bosses.
Bosses that make you question your motives are the best. Sif is another boss that actually made me feel something.

Favorites are armor spider for fun and Maiden Astraea for atmosphere.
Hardest is definitely Maneaters and Flamelurker. Possibly Old Hero if you don't have thief ring and are revived.

Northern Regalia. Does damage dependant on your character tendency. Meaning that once you get the stats required to wield it, you can put everything else into vitality and endurance.
Add second chance (the revive miracle) and morion's blade+the ring (extreme damage once at low health, you having extremely high health means this will trigger fast) and you're a god damn monster. You can straight up tank so many fucking hits and just destroy enemies in return.

I did this but with Dragon Bone smasher and STR build. One hitting bosses erry day all day. Once got summoned to be the Old Monk boss. Poor fucker stood no chance.
