I liked how nonlinear his origin story was, the shit introduced in Sonic Heroes was a weird mix of cool and shit, and they made his signature game needlessly edgy when all they needed was the T rating to fully explore Maria's storyline, and they wasted it all on edge and memes.

back when i was 12, i thought he was the coolest shit.
now, his alright for what he is. he has the right to be edgy/moody after everything his been through. i liked how he drops the edge and becomes more friendly and chill with his friends later on.
good game turned bad by a mix of awful levels/missions and the bastardization of shadows character+that bland, edgy story

People say there is only one good thing about sonic 06, which is the music, and I agree the music is good, but the out of nowhere "thwack" to the back of the head really tickled me.

That scene is pretty great.
I honestly always believed that even though it was a fuckin edgy ass game it would easily been one of my most liked sonic games. It's dumb as fuck but in a good way.
I feel bad for the people who couldn't enjoy the game for what it was.
Also fuck that time trial bomb diffusing level, I don't know why but it was easily the worst/hardest mission to 100% for me.

It's a shame they never finished that LP, it had it's moments.
The game played like ass even if it wasn't edgy, only commendable thing are the amount of endings and branches and even then it's recycled either in the gameplay department or the writing THIS IS WHO I AM department.

Actually, come to think of it, shadow was written ... not awfully in sonic 06. I mean, he joked around with his friends, he didn't swear, and had a pretty decent ending cinematic.
It won't get any awards, but it wasn't cringeworthy.
