Are you retard or something?
>>
>>337094046
How the fuck do I even read this
>>
Why does mouse acceleration even exist
>>
>>337094115
with acceleration:

traveling the same distance, moving the mouse slow < moving the mouse fast

w/o acceleration:

traveling the same distance, move the mouse slow = moving the mouse fast
>>
>>337094140
What is it? It sounds like those aim helpers that destroy your aim.
>>
>>337094046
>not getting more out of your hand movements
look at this retard.
>>
>>337094284

So is your point that it makes things...too easy? Too difficult? That it's impractical? That it's cheesing the game? I literally cannot grasp your argument here.
>>
go into windows mouse options and turn the precision thing off, enjoy actually building muscle memory

>he didn't install the MarkC Mouse Fix as soon as he finished installing his OS

sometimes I wonder if you guys even take video games seriously
>>
Mouse acceleration just feels so fucking unnatural.
>>
>>337094345
Without mouse acceleration, your mouse input is 1:1 regardless of the speed the physical device is traveling at.

With mouse acceleration, your cursor/mouse input will move faster relative to your mouse's physical movement and so gains more speed from faster movements. So if you move the device more quickly with this on, you'll move more distance than you did without it.

Turning off all means of it is a consistency thing.
>>
>>337094583
Don't you only need that if you plan on playing old FPS?
>>

>markc mouse fix

does it actually helps you aiming or something?
Looks like a good meme to me

Are there any non-old FPS worth playing? Listen to yourself, man.

That said, what games actually force mouse accel on? I don't believe for a second that it affects ALL old games.
>>
>>337094446
it makes things inconsistent
>>
>>337094046
How do you turn this off again?
>>
>>337094046

Fucking why.

get a mouse that has on the fly ability to change your mouse sensitivity.

The mx518 is the perfect mouse. I use to play bf2 a shit ton and when I bought that mouse it was like night and day. Jumping in a tank and switching to extremely high sensitivity so I could swivel the turret around like a normal gun was fucking the best thing ever.

>google how to turn it off on win10
>"yeah just drop your mouse speed in the settings to the slowest option"
>takes 5 fucking full slides of the mouse to go across the screen one time

yeah nah fuck off OP
>>
>>337094284
sorry but that info graphic is retarded

im thinking it might have even been deliberately edited to cause confusion

acceleration is shit and is specifically implemented for controllers since using one is imprecise as fuck and slow as hell
acceleration compensates for the slow part while auto aim compensates for the imprecise part

there were sensitivity controls for both infantry mode and vehicle mode so you could set one different than the other
>>
>>337094583
>expecting /v/ to know what the fuck that is

People don't play fps on this board
>>
>>337098796
I don't remember exactly the circumstance as that was about 10 years ago but I'm pretty sure no matter what you did the tank swivel was considerably slower.

Even then switching between close contact shooting and slower movements for long distance aiming was pretty great.
>>
>>337098557
Are you seriously telling me you can't turn off mouse acceleration in windows 10?
>>
>>337098557
>>337098987
No, you can go into Mouse Properties and disable it. They call it "Enhance pointer precision".
>>
>>337099101
Its always been called that

he implied as if you couldn't turn it off
>>
>>337094446
It adds another way to control stuff.
You move the mouse fast over the same distance( real life distance ) The mouse moves father than if you moved it over the same distance( real life distance ).

This initially results in in-consistent cursor movement. But if one could master it, It would give the ability to take a VERY SMALL amount of time off how fast you can respond to things via mouse moment.

I consider it to be not worth, due to such an amount of effort needed for such low and insignificant gains
>>
>>337099945
i think it MIGHT work if the screen real estate is huge as fuck but even then the resolution would be adjusted to allow the user to actually see what is on the screen (mainly text)
>>
>>337100063
With REALLY large screens, and the person in question being used to slow mouse sensitivity, The gains would prob start to lean towards it being worth.
>>
>>337094046
Want to hear something hilarious? On OSX you can't even turn it off without 3rd party software.
>>
>he doesn't use povohat's ql mouse accel driver to allow him to customise his mouse acceleration for every game.
Sure is pleb in here. You do know that most quake pros used mouse accel right? It allows for pixel perfect rails as well as fast movement.
>>
>>337100513
To add on to this, mouse accel being bad is literally a meme started by CS players. If you know what you're doing, and use sensible settings, mouse accel can actually be quite good.
>>
>>337100513
>>337100585
Real talk.
Mouse accel is also popular in Unreal Tournament.

>>337100513
>Customise mouse acceleration
My mouse already has that shit. I fell for the "Mouse acceleration sucks, don't buy steelseries" meme for so long, than I bought a rival for 40 bucks, and I love it.
