Do you know what's always gonna be around friend? An ice cold 7up waiting for you at the store. Go get it pal you earned it.
>>337093985
>miss someone
>they dont miss you
>context sensitive button used for picking up items and opening doors
>try picking up item bu go through door instead, despawning item
>>337093985
you think you want that
but you really dont
>Locked out of the best ending because you didn't talk to a nondescript NPC a second time before leaving a town after a certain cutscene.
>far cry 3
>all them collectibles
>1 is behind a plot door
granted its pretty hard to miss, its just sitting in a hallway chanting at you, but it's still dumb

>corridor with two paths
>no directional or quest log mentions on which way to go
>go one direction
>autosave occurs
>cave in
>there isn't hardsave spots
>forever blocked from checking other path unless you restart game
>two paths
>no indication of which advances the story and which has loot
>no way to go back if you pick the one that activates the next cutscene or boss
>in the event that the game has you return to the area later, the treasure will be gone
>single button assigned for a single gimmick
>gimmick only used for ten seconds of the game
OP here
Am I the only one who doesnt play games as much now because ai constantly feel like I'll miss an item or collectable, but dont want to do another playthrough or start a new game?
It's the sole reason I got gamer fatigue, and I want to know how to get over that.
>>337094453
if i ever made a game I'd put branching paths that lead to the same place just to fuck with people
>>337094612
BUT WHAT IF ONE HAS AWESOME LOOT
WHAT IF I MISS IT AND NEVER GET IT
>>337094612
I'm pretty sure several games have done that.
>game where you're told your actions will have a direct effect on the sequel
>do everything
>the side quests that don't advance any substantial plot point still take over a dozen hours
>turns out literally nothing matters in the end
>>337093985
Only problem I had with Epic Mickey.
>>337093985
>Start a quest
>Quest is "timed" so you can't finish it immediately
>Do what I can
>Progress with the main game as usual
>Come back to quest a little bit later
>Proceeded too far in the game to go back and complete the quest
>Quest is forever locked out for the current playthrough
>Rewards are now impossible to obtain
>Quest still remains on your objectives list
>>337094549
What worked for me;
>Disregard /disable achievements/trophies
>Ignore guides
>Enjoy the game
>Feel free to just play the game
>Accept that you will make mistakes
>Give yourself breaks
>>337094057
Deep.
>>337094549
>but dont want to do another playthrough or start a new game
Drop the game entirely then. No point in playing something your autism will prevent you from revisiting.
>>337094771
>mass effect 3
>the only thing that makes a noticeable difference is what you did with the krogan research
>>337094612
Sooo Telltale?
>Trying to 100% a Trails game without a guide.
>guns do less damage than swords
>game is a 3D action game with a fixed camera
>controls change suddenly when camera changes
>>337095091
>takes several shots to kill an enemy
>takes one stab to kill an enemy
>>337094916
Thats not the point.
I WANT to complete a game 100% the first time because I hate having to go through the same thing again for a different motive.
It's not the same the second time around and thats what bugs me
>Characters can take being set on fire or a comet hurtling from the depths of space and crashing into them in battle and be just fine.
>Get stabbed/shot and die like a bitch outside of battle.
>>337095253
>I WANT to complete a game 100% the first time
I guess you'll never enjoy games again then.
>die
>lose items you've acquired since last playthrough
>>337094549
RPGs usually provide NG+ which lets you plow through everything to get what you missed and even experience new things that are only available on subsequent playthroughs. Everything else is pretty short so it shouldn't be THAT much of an issue.
>gun has good stats
>it looks like shit
alternatively
>gun looks awesome
>it's garbage
>>337095491
>you can put items you want in a chest for the next run if you die
God. I love One Way Heroics.
>there's an super-ultra-mega-ultimate-weapon
>can only be aqcuired at end of game after every boss has been beaten
>>337095735
>super-hard-ultimate-mega-postgame boss is a reskin of a previous boss
>>337094549
That's why I always bother to play a game twice.
My first is what I call a dumbass plathrough, where I don't look at guides and I do whatever the fuck I want.
Then after I finish the first time, the next one is when I look for all the hidden shit and read about all the little things you could end up losing foreger.
I have fun.
>miss something
>game calls you an asshole for going back
>>337095735
>finally get the last super weapon upgrade
>can only use it for the final fight
>effect doesn't even do shit in in final fight
>game has NG+
>you don't get to keep that weapon
Thanks Shadow Warrior
