I was born in 1980. Played nes with elementary school Bros. Snes came out when I was on fifth grade. I remember the first time I saw a screenshot of a Snes get in a magazine I honestly thought it was a cartoon. It was of smw and mario was on yoshi.
Chrono trigger came out my freshman year in high school and it was fun...Although I was disappointed a little bit with it. I still think it's great, but still.
I actually had earthbound my freshman year and I remember a Saturday night my parents were gone most of the night. I ate pizza, played earthbound on the living room tv, fappped...still a new thing to me, and listened to cds loud. Shit was cash.
I loved when I grew up and wouldn't have wanted to grow up any later than I did. Of course maybe it's just nostalgia and being a kid's just fun.

I grew up with Doom 2 for windows 95. Never knew about WADS or mods or anything until I was much older. I played the game from disk for years. It was great and I enjoyed it.
I also played Doom 3 upon release. Another game I was hyped for. I thought it was a solid and fun game, and mods just made it better. Never played the expansion though.
I even had fun with DoomRL. It was a fun idea and a good challenge.
With Doom 4, I'm actually looking forward to it. Sure, it's not the same, but it looks fun. I never cared about speed running the games, so I don't care about the speed. Only thing that bugs me is the enemies dropping health/armor. But I read that can be disabled. So I will get it eventually and will still probably have fun with it.

I was born in 1985 but trends in Denmark didn't move as fast as in America obviously, so my youth was incredibly 80's-centric. 80's music was popular long into the 90's and fashion trends only slowly changed.
I had a walkman for the longest time, but when I finally got a portable CD-player that was the sickest shit. Didn't have anti-skip though so if you moved too fast it would stop and restart the track.
The two things I remember the best was getting dial-up internet and how excited I was when it became possible to get a constant connection in our area.

It's kinda weird, I've played DOS/PC games all my childhood but my first FPS was Goldeneye at a friend's house. Halo was the first FPS I got gud at. Didn't even play a PC shooter until CS:S and Unreal Tournament 3. As a kid all I played were maxis games, SimCity Classic probably being my all time favorite game. '
