But it's better than not trying at all, the worst that happens is you're forced to the latest firmware. you can do that with Cakes too but the main selling point of A9lh is faster system and easier restoration. I'm using Cakes and it works fine for me, but in the future I plan on moving to a9lh as well

I bought a n3DS XL earlier today, just saw that it had 9.9. I have an o3DS XL with cakes cfw on 10.7 emunand. Is it possible to do a system transfer? I plan on hacking the n3DS XL later this week. I imagine I can do the transfer from emunand to emunand but I want to make sure.

I installed cfw some time ago, but I'm way behind the times. I'm still using rxtools with emuNAND still at 10.3. I've heard of something about a9lh, which is supposed to be faster and whatnot, is it worth bothering with? Also do I need to rush since 11.0 is happening/already happened? Is it particularly difficult to make the switch?

The only problem is that if something goes wrong and during the downgrading you may softbrick the 3ds and will have to update to the latest firmware. It shouldnt happen but theres a chance. Once you get to a certain point you will have a backup file that you can revert to if something goes wrong.

I just tried downgrading to get my OTP for my 3ds(the sysNAND is on 9.2-20U) however my reNAND was updated to the newest update and I get an error when downgrading(the bottom screen has the typical 3ds an error has occured)
So either I re-do the whole steps but find a 10.7 update file or wait.
Whats is this thing I hear about it being riskier to brick a New Nintendo 3DS?
