That's the whole point. For the first one it shows you that you were prepared and it killed them, from that point on you'll have to handle it yourself.
In fact when I think about it, both SC2 and WC3 do that a lot, they have a trap ready to spring on some sudden emergency then warn you it's gonna keep happening, to visually suggest a way to take the problem on

The nerubian kingdom spanned most of the world if I'm remembering correctly. Not the surface, but beneath. So it's not so far-fetched to believe there are trillions of these scarabs living beneath the ground and anub'arak just summons them to the surface to aid him.
