It's fucking depressing how much of a downgrade it is from the NV awesome Brush gun.

The lever action rifle has a firing rate as if operating a bolt action rifle with arthritis and is ridiculously inaccurate, that thing has spread like a one shot blunderbuss. You can reliably miss at point blanc range.

Far Harbor is really what FO4 should have been from a quest perspective. They are all way more in-depth and have actually branching paths. For the three main factions of the island, their main quest lines intermingle at pretty much every quest stage with your choice who to support.

i didn't mind the idea of junk weapons being the more prevalent ones in a post apocalyptic setting with weapons like the sniper rifle in your image being a less than common find and the one that lasts longer , doesn't jam and has a higher damage output and overall better perfomance ; in fact i would argue that it would add an extra layer to the game .But of course Bethesda had to screw that one good concept up by removing gun condition and maintenance and adding legendary weapons like no reload double barrel shotguns and flamers that freeze stuff

Survival got annoying after the game crashed for me and I ran into quest bugs that required me to restart from a previous save which was a long time ago. Not to mention the "challenge" is busy work more than being challenging. Got annoying when settlements got attacked while I was in far harbour.

I think the worst example of this system is Cait's companion quest, at the end you have to convince her to use a machine that will cure her addiction

One is a semi-auto sniper rifle that uses common ammo which doesn't actually weight a ton. The base version also can be suppressed, which is huge - none of the guns you mentioned support suppressors. The Gobi version looks more like original sprite, anyway, as it doesn't have skeletal stock Beth model does.

If you make AMR the default sniper rifle, it takes a punch out of actually getting and using AMR, which as it stands is allowed to be an unique and extremely powerful weapon (though SR can actually be more powerful with a proper build, as you can make it crit on literally every shot).

Bozar isn't really a sniper rifle though.

It was supposed to be a sniper rifle in F2, but due to an oversight it ended up as a burst weapon instead and devsleft it like that.

In NV it's just a light machine gun that trades capacity for better accuracy and range. I still think ligh machine gun with 200 rounds is better.

It's just that there is no reason to make them eject on the left side.

Right-handed guns eject to the right to keep that hot brass from striking the shooters face. Considering that many people play vidya with guns because they like guns, a reasonable degree of realism is to be expected.

I went to a shooting range for the first time in my life a few months ago, it was the first time I shot a gun. I was surprised that people really just stand side by side and shoot guns, not caring that the casings are flying onto them. I was watching someone shoot next to a guy who was aiming down the scope of a rifle as hand gun bullet casings rained on his head and he didn't give a fuck. When I was shooting, some girl was next to me and I kept apologizing but she said she didn't care. However, I've also heard stories where bullet casings burned people really bad.

It's an aesthetic choice. Mirroring the bolt and ejection port makes the gun look more 'animated' to the players. STALKER and Black also did this.

Ejected casings lose their velocity pretty quickly, so it's not an issue unless it hits your face which is close to the ejecting port.

And even then it's not that much of an issue unless you are shooting bullpup style rifle with the wrong hand, like >>337059991. I'm left handed and I shoot right-handed guns all the time, casings are hardly an issue.

That said, it's always better when they have no chance to hit you at all.

Random note, seems like revolvers are the nicest for shooting ranges. No casings flying all over and easier to reload. Half the time spent "Shooting" a USP was reloading the three magazines we had. Was a lot nicer to just put the bullets into the gun in a situation where you're basically just dumping ammo for fun.

With practice you can reload those magazines pretty quickly.

And some people enjoy all the little things involved as well. I shoot black powder as well so more than half of the time is spend on reloading.
