You can get a +9 weapon by killing the chick who gave you the lothric banner which will summon the dancer earlier. You can use the weird exploit with the master swordsman summon to kill the dancer despite being such a low level. Then you can just run through lothric castle to get shards/chunks/slabs, etc.

Claymore still has the best fucking moveset, though it and the bastard sword have the same AR and scaling, so you can use what you want. I hear Wolf Knight's is good, but the flips just don't do it for me.
Is it just me, or is the clipping even worse than usual in this game? I can't recall any headwear actually clipping with your fucking hair in the previous games. Hell, even Demon's would adjust your characters hair for the fat minister hat. The Mirrah Chainmail seems really odd when it comes to clipping on the upper legs too.

Profaned Greatsword is my fav so far.
It's weapon art is an air launch that also buffs the sword with flame.
Claymore also has its usual moveset, which imo is one of the best in the game for general purpose stuff. Claymore does NOT have hyper armor of any type now.
That being said, GS aren't that great this game in general due to how the scaling works. You can do more damage in the same amount of time by two handing good 1handers.

Fast weapons are king right now. As such, use a fast ultra greatsword! Farron Greatsword has a fast rolling thrust, and the l2s alternate swift dagger strikes to pivoting on the dagger to do huge acrobatic sweeps that lower your hitboxe to the ground followed by an Artorias flippy. Best part is thus is just a part of the normal moveset and takes no fp at all, as the weapon art is a dagger parry. The normal r1/r2 movesets have standard UGS strikes and the whole weapon is hyper armor.
Alternatively I suggest Dragonslayer Swordspear. It's moveset hybridizes spears and ultra greatswords, as well as a guaranteed self buff that also includes a ranged lighting bolt from the sky which hits for over 600 at the base faith req on my 18 str 23 dex sl60 build at +4 because weapon arts don't scale with anything but the weapon AR. Very good when done from behind an obscuring ring and hits turtles for about 300. You can use it at 13 faith with the priestess ring.
