Can anyone reccommend some good games for a PS3?
I already have DeS, Bayonetta and Resistance.
They don't have to be strictly PS3 exclusive, just games with no PC ports.
Preferably no shooters (I'm sorry, but FPS with a controller just feels awful to me), but otherwise I'm open to most suggestions apart from hardcore weebshit.

get the MGS Legacy Collection, and you get the first 8 games in one package, from 1987 to 2010, on one system.
Alternatively, get MGS1 from PSN Store, then MGS HD Collection and MGS4 separately.
Play 'em in the release order.

well, it's again one of those "each their own" games, but the series definitely does the "cinematic" style and design FAR better than any modern game. Not to mention the gameplay's quite open-ended in the series, and there's tons of TECHNOLOGY. Some little humor also lightens up the mood quite a bit.
The series also has plenty of historical value, and /k/ nuts also love it.
But I can understand that you wouldn't be too excited about the series if none of the mentioned features and/or stealth gameplay don't appeal to you. That being said, each of the games in the series plays and looks a bit different from each other, and it's not uncommon to see the fans of the MGS to have totally different opinions of which game's the best and worst.

The PC ports suck, and don't necessarily even work anymore. Especially MGS2 is just crash & lag fest, and since you don't have the pressure-sensitive face buttons on PC, you get very clunky controls, with tons of pointless misfires and such.
The first game's PS1 version is the definitive version, and easily emulated. For 2 and 3, the HD ports on PS3 are easily the best ones.

Oh I'm still grateful for the suggestion. I don't want to trash it, even my short encounter with the first game was pretty interesting, but it didn't exactly woo me terribly.
I had a blast listenting to all the briefing files though.

I love the Briefing files and the numerous Codec conversations you can have in the series. Really fleshes out the world and characters, plus provides you actually useful insight as well.
I hope you find some time and motivation to give it another go at some point. Some people call the series' plot weird and convoluted, but I don't really see it to be either of those. The plot just continues and expands linearly through the games, forming one big, connected saga.
