Furious raj doesn't have an apex form, thank fucking god. By two form enrage, you mean the one where his arms go hard? There are two answers. First is ESP, but quite suboptimal as the hitzone becomes .1 or something as well as gemming it in. But there isn't a whole playstyle change if you use ESP. 2nd answer is concentrate on hitting the tail. If your using weapons with wide swings though, you'll hit a bounce zone sooner or later.

As far as 4U is concerned it's quite powerful for what it is, even after taking easy mounting out of consideration. Load up on speed nectar and get easy red essence.

Yes. The damage buffs are easy to obtain, and they even throw in a defensive buff with triple buffs. It is possible to cheese monsters through mounting, even notorious anti-melee monsters like black gravios. Its damage output is high, I would rate it 3rd best behind HBG and GS.
However, it is a weapon for advanced users alike. Unlike other statuses, mounting attacks don't decay, so you can stack mounting attacks then pull off a mount at a good time. I like to save mounts for when the monster reverts back to apex and my teammates' wystones are up or to cancel teostra's nova. Also, glaives are one of the worst weapons to use against apex monsters, because some monsters prevent you from obtaining red without drive. A glaive without red is like.. a boy without a penis.

A lot of the difficulty in MH actually comes from transitions between the different ranks. At that point, you're undergeared, everything hits like a truck in rage mode, and need to face new monsters or old monsters with new attacks that cover up old openings that you used back in High. If you can get past that curve, no, G Rank's not that bad.

Funny enough we still don't have a Generations release date for the West yet, apart from knowing it'll supposedly be launched in Summer. A suggestion could be to have monsters of the same type (Brute Wyverns, Leviathans, etc) all drop a low percent item related to their type.
Weaker monsters have a low chance while the stronger monsters have a higher chance than before (5% - 7% instead of 2% - 3%, could go to 10% with certain items or armor sets) This could give you plenty of chance to get those items earlier in the game.

Gonna be honest, rare drops have stopped being a problem for me once I started figuring out which quests to do for them.
Like, say Monster can yield Rare Item, but Quest A has no individual rewards for said item for completing the quest itself:

>2% for breaking face
>1% per shiny
Assuming tail is carved, face is broken, and one shiny is gathered per quest plus kill and not cap, it's like a 10.8% chance of getting item per hunt
But Quest B...

>2% per body carve (x3)
>3% for tail carve

HG Earplugs and Sharpness are great, though it's quite hard to squeeze in both S+1 and Razor Sharp. Edge Lore on Regios X and Star Knight work around this, but on the former you can end up using a fuckton of gem slots even if Artisan Jewels are available at that point (Rathalos Fellwings!) on top of a good charm to achieve S+1 whereas SK armor has +4 already. Regios X's Constitution +2 is handy for some weapons, I guess.
Seriously, a good Handicraft charm does wonders. I was lucky to get a +5 Handicraft -3 Guts OO- charm in G1.
