During the reveal live-stream, they played a much cleaner version of the 1942 theme. It's never been heard before.

That could be the new theme, seeing how electronic shit doesn't go with WW1.

They really should go back to orchestrator.

I not only expect it, but I desire it.

I don't get why people freak out. BF teasers have always had shit music.

Rihanna in BF4, some shitty crap for Hardline, etc.

It's at least shit you never hear in game, so that's fine.

It's mainly because there is a black man on the cover. They don't care about the music it's just /pol/tards getting triggered.

As a huge Tolkien fan who was inspired to learn more about WWI, I think this finally made me realize just how tasteless these kind of games are. It's peak cultural cynicism. It's the fruit of postmodern philosophy and its quest to destroy reverence.

WWI was probably one of the most brutal, inhumane conflicts in the history of our species. It marked a turning point for our civilization. It began the industrialization and mechanization of slaughter. Unimaginable numbers of young men lost their lives in the mud and blood and terror of that war.

And here we are "recreating" it for fun and amusement as dubstep blares in the background. It's absolutely insane. Make whatever game you like, play whatever game you like. I'll defend your right to do that till I die. But at least realize how absurd this all is.

I think they're taking it in the wrong direction totally. They're making a game about a terrifying dirty war and the best they could come up with is some remixed white stripes song

It's sad to think how many lives have been lost due to games glorifying them. There was a big influx during MW1/2 time, and many would be classed as kids, too young to have the responsibility of drinking. It might be dumb as fuck, but it's still kind of sad that they'll fuck up their futures.

Because it's disingenuous. They aren't doing it because they're genuinely interested in stories of the war that we don't often hear, they're doing it because tokenism sells to the new games media.

I say this as a person of color.

Well that's quite different before the war people thought war was this glorious and gentlemanly thing, when they started losing millions of man in mere months they realized it wasn't so glorious and gentlemanly but they had to advertise it as such so they could get more volunteer after while people realized what was happening so they started doing shit like the order of the white feather and after a while that stopped working and they had to introduce conscription.

How about the original fucking battlefield theme? With extra trumpets and occasional drum snares to replicate the eras war time chants and cadences, instead of dub step bullshit.
>>
>>336969038
this
the music was so stupid and almost made the trailer look like a joke. especially with that woman on horseback trying very hard to look intense. actually the whole thing felt like it was trying way too hard to look cool. because of the music and a few other elements it just came to feel like a kid whisper yelling.
>>
>>336958701

>>
>>336958768
They've already used it for the BF:BC2 Vietnam DLC.

Expect Jazz music when playing as one of the Hellfighters since a few of them played it when they weren't in the trenches. I think this game will be good desu.

>While on night sentry duty, May 15, 1918, Johnson and a fellow Soldier, Pvt. Needham Roberts, received a surprise attack by a German raiding party consisting of at least 12 soldiers.
>While under intense enemy fire and despite receiving significant wounds, Johnson mounted a brave retaliation resulting in several enemy casualties. When his fellow Soldier was badly wounded, Johnson prevented him from being taken prisoner by German forces.
>Johnson exposed himself to grave danger by advancing from his position to engage an enemy soldier in hand-to-hand combat. Wielding only a knife and being seriously wounded, Johnson continued fighting, took his Bolo knife and stabbed it through an enemy soldier's head.

He better be the black guy on the cover. All the Main protagonist better be soldiers who did shit like this. I know there's more.

To be fair, world war 1 was the closest we will ever get to "steam punk". The differing technological levels of nations along with the insane levels of creativity, disturbing ways exterminate fellow man, the inventions and innovations, were all truly astonishing. It is a bit of a wonder how a cluster fuck of a war happened at all.

If anything, WW1 would be the end of a hypothetical steampunk period, just like how all the 19th century stuff like cavalry got smashed out of common use
>>
>>336969038
Interesting thing about this image is that it's actually an illustration of the world in a novel called Leviathan. It's a WW1 steampunk novel where the Central Powers use war machines while the Entente Powers use genetically engineered creatures. That's why Germany and Austro-Hungary are grey and metallic with machines on them while Russia and its allies are all sorts of weird creatures.
