Skyrim - They did the bow right, but everything else was plain and boring. Fighting a dragon was tedious instead of exciting. Magic was pure garbage
Street Fighter V - Not one character I want to main in the entire roster, matchmaking takes 5-10 minutes for a 3 minute match, no extra modes at all.
Smash 4 - Wanted melee, got brawl. Shit game.
Fallout 4 - It's just not fun at all. Writing is boring, gunplay is boring. How could they not get either of them right?

the castle enviornments and locations were god tier Castlevaniafare. The castle BOSSES were also really good. the Castyle story was fantastic.
but then those are just like what, 10% of the whole game, and a big chunk is modern day post apocalypse city, complete with loads of grey and generic ruined architecture, annoying and boring enemies, and the WORST boss and ending of ANY castlevania game ever. Even worse than Castlevania 2's final boss.

All three closing chapters in franchises, all ruined by open world design. Open world costs more money to make with almost no gain 99% of the time. Open world games are hard to design content for, stuff that isn't just just filler. Then when you try to fill the game with content, you use filler because there is so much real-estate that you laid out but had no idea how to fill.
Open world hurts narrative structure and pacing as well. Open world and loot grind bullshit with unlocks are now the standard. Every game is like this and people get all excited for shit like the Division or Destiny and it's trash. Then they see the next crap game and get all excited.
The moment I saw that Metal Gear Solid V was open world is the day I had to try and convince myself I cannot judge it until launch. But you see shit like the buddy system, the mundane sneaking. Yet the trailers are great, you become confused but deep down you know it won't be any good. Then when the time comes to pat yourself on the back because you were right, you have to get up off the floor first, since you have been there numb wondering how anyone could fuck up so bad.

I can't even remember, I know I was hyped for das2 and it turned out to be shit, and I was hyped for titanfall and it turned out shit because it was utterly lacking in content.
the last game I was hyped for was das3 and i love it, and before that tw3 and that was amazing.

MGSV was supposed to be Kojima's Swan song for the Metal Gear franchise, as it was his last one he'd ever be making....but Konami wouldn't let him. It was supposed to be so much greater.
MGS4 is fucking retarded, but at least it's a finished product with a full narrative with a beginning, middle, and end. (Note: I am not claiming MGS4 is good...but it delivered a FINISHED story)

This is also my face when DA:O hasn't been mentioned (and Skyrim has been brought up multiple times). I'm dumbfounded.
In DA:O; the story was shit, dialogue options were a joke and neckbeard soap opera quality, the combat was broken AF, and everything was on a cool down. I spent almost 90 hours trying to pretend it would live up to the hype. So much for Bioware DnD classics.

Secondly, It's more than a fair comparison if you look at any other MGS title. What we were delivered in MGS5 was lacking in so many core MGS features of elements that it was hardly a Metal Gear game anymore. And it also wasn't a full, self contained story experience like all the other Metal Gear titles.
Of course the story "doesn't end" with MGSV. Just like the story couldn't end with MGS3/PW, ect.
But you know, those games finished up the story they were trying to tell within the confines of their game, while still lending themselves to an overall bigger narrative.
MGSV fails to really have any impact on the story as a whole, mostly serves as a side story to main events, makes more holes than it fills, and offers no promise of following up on itself since Kojima is gone, and Konami is Pachinko farm now.
