It's a fun, really well made shooter with surprisingly addictive gameplay and controls. The traversal feels great and the weapons are fun to use, which complement the equipment level up system. However there are some balancing issues with the weapons, and for me it get's repetitive after 10 matches or so. It could use with some more competitive minigames or obstacle courses.

Painting Master Race here. I can't count the number of times I've gotten a win because my entire team wants to play CoD:Ink Edition and refuse to actually seek out out of the way areas to paint. Not to mention all the clutch wins I get with last minute ink strikes.

Yes I know they gave it more range. It still wasn't 96 gal damage range though. It shoots ink about as far as a 96 can but the damage range falls just short of how far the actual bullet spreads ink. That's observed from testing it out in the shooting range. It's probably about as viable as the nerfed 96 is now though even then 96 is still more consistent. What nozzlenoses need is to have faster bursts so that bullets are less spread apart. Sort of like AN-94, shooting two bullets in close succession for the price of one bullet.

A good balance of both is always needed. Sometimes you need to wipe out their team to gain more ground, sometimes you need to get in all the corners to make sure you get the win.
It's surprisingly not bad for a console shooter and it has fucking great fanart. Not enough to get a Wii U for, though.

Depends on the weapon and what my team is doing.
I used to love being Splatter Jr., and it was an uphill battle to fight, but I could paint so much that I could go straight into enemy territory and keep enemies preoccupied by still running full speed away from them while painting.
But then with a lot of other weapons, it's just a lot better to take advantage of fighting so that you can defend an area or take control of it so someone can help you paint it faster.
