I feel like it's too early to say this for CDPR.

So far they've only worked on a single series of games, which - while all very good - were of highly variable quality in terms of the gameplay, and the last of which had a large visual downgrade they tried to deny. Plus they all drew significant inspiration from a series of novels, for the writing.

If Cyberpunk 2020 is good they'll have definitely earned it, though.

The Battle Frontier was a collection of postgame battle facilities each with unique rulesets you need to follow to win (one forces you to use rental pokemon, another one decides battle round based ratings of strategies taken, etc.), that was introduced in Emerald way back during Gen 3. ORAS is a modern remake of Generation 3 but replaces the Battle Frontier with a direct copy paste of XY's Battle Mansion and sign that basically says "FUCK YOU" seen here: >>336685051

Yes, this is why the guys who made FPS jumped on board right away when mouses were becoming a thing. That analogy would be adequate if "generic gameplay mechanics" could be compared to the best control scheme for a genre, but they aren't exactly a positive thing to have.

The Uru stuff are just expansions to Uru Online. The rest are ports of Myst and realMyst and some of its sequels.

They literally did nothing wrong there, besides listen too much to the critics and trying to make Part 2 more like an oldschool text adventure.

If you have access to the original physical releases of the first two games, your best bet is to play them through SCUMMVM; otherwise you should download the GOG.com digital versions.

For Exile, your only option is to play it through ResidualVM.

Revelations, Uru, and End of Ages all still work with modern systems.

Differences between the different versions of Myst and Riven:

Myst: the original game; the graphics are dithered to make them load reasonably on CD drives of the time; I believe its assets are used in the GOG.com release but I'm not sure
Myst Masterpiece Edition: Same as the original, except the graphics are undithered
realMYST: Myst, but with realtime 3D graphics and an extra Age to better bridge the gap between Myst and Riven
realMyst Masterpiece Edition: a graphical overhaul of realMyst

Riven: the original, 5-disc release; its assets are used in the GOG.com digital release.
Riven: released as part of the "Myst: 10th Anniversary" collection; comes on a single DVD and has higher quality renders

DO NOT GET ANY HANDHELD VERSION OF MYST

To anyone who said Platinum, please escort yourself to the nearest gas chamber as soon as possible.
Almost half of their games are shovelware at this point.

doesn't Myst look like shit these days? I mean much more than the average old 3D game, because they were made withsome technique that doesn't scale with hardware, as in you can't play it downscaled 4k or add AA to it or something

this is totally soooo not bait

The realMyst masterpiece edition has the graphics look pretty good. And even so, I enjoy the old look.

Spacebase, their game that they canned and basically told people to go fuck themselves
>>
>>336701686
>basically told people to go fuck themselves

Read: "Apologized to profusely for having to can the game for the sake of the company, and compensated by giving them a free copy of their next game - which cost more than Spacebase itself did to begin with."

Many are still convinced that people had to pay extra for the second half of Broken Age.

I would say platinum if It werent for Star fox 0

Well, i think valve thenselves havent made a bad game yet, even if their steam policies are everyday shadier and jewer.

You mean the literally one review that said something about it being "gaming's Citizen Kane's moment?" If anything, you should really blame /v/.
>>
>>336699524
They aren't money-grubbing aristocrats, they just have no direction.
Destiny was a clusterfuck of way too many design choices, the game was pulled on so many directions that it ended up neutered and released just to avoid backlash, which became it's downfall.

Nigga, gameplay is about 50-75% of a games worth.
>>
>>336704040

I don't think it's entirely their fault but it's kind of clear from them doing that is the fact that they can only do action beat em up games rather than any kind of action game.

Nintendo is mostly to blame for it though.

Arms 3 is really just a massive overhaul f on arms 2

But really the reason I trust them is because of their stance on mods and dlc.

With their DLCs you can still play on servers that use them but you just have restriced access to them. Like with helos you can't ply them but you canxstil be a passenger, or with weapons you can still play in servers that use them but you just can't pick them up. However you can use them if you get them from the virtual arsenal. But you just get a watermark over your screen
