I beat him first go, and I never saw any tutorial videos on how to beat him. It was like fighting some taller tougher dark knights. All of his moves were very predictable and just rehashes of previous bosses. Gundyr 2.0 was harder desu.
What are some other great games that disappoint with an easy final boss.

Gwyn and King Allant weren't hard. It was a conscious decision to not make them hard. Even Nashandra and Aldia were quite easy and they were necessarily meant to be easy. Perhaps there's a plot point we're missing here?

Soul of Cinder felt really unique even despite his second phase being a recreation of gwyn with additional moves.
His first phase had like 4 movesets that he could change rapidly, sometimes he would use moves from 3 different stances in the space of like 25 seconds, longsword, scimitar and pyromancies, spear and miracles and sorceries.
By comparison, I easily found him the hardest boss of the series as well, false king, gwyn, nashandra/aldia, and gehrman/moon presence were all far easier.

While Soul of Cinder was pretty easy, I found him to be very fun and pretty nostalgic once he started changing his weapons. At least for the first phase, that second phase was kind of boring.
He was still harder than any of the bosses from Demon's Souls though, except for potentially the Old Monk.
Worst final boss is Leon in ORC. Prove me wrong.

I should have mentioned that I got completely wrecked by High Lord Wolnir.
I had so much trouble with Wolnir, he would summon skeleton after skeleton after skeleton and i'd have 10 skeletons literally up my ass. Took me somewhere between 10 to 20 tries.
When it comes to SoC, I accept people have trouble with him but I find it really hard to see how going by my single fight with Soul of Cinder.
And when I tell people how much trouble i had with High Lord Wolnir they have the same kind of disbelief to the difficulty i experienced.
Maybe there's an RNG element to the difficulty of bosses or some are just really vulnerable to certain weapon and build types?

every attempt after that he started summoning skeletons early on in the fight
a giant sack of HP with no real purpose.
Hell, there is no music.
The other bosses were generally pretty good.

There was that one time in the sewer level right after the basilisk genocide where you fought the vagina dragon, with solaire and lautrec incapable of resisting the urge to hump at it's toothy maw. After which you get to spend next 15 minutes wailing on a sponge with 20,000 health using a +3-5 weapon.

learned yesterday you can sneak up on wolnir and get a fully charged r2 on his bracelet before he even notices you've entered the room. Did this to him with my fume ugs and hit for for 38k damage, destroying one bracelet and dealing over two thirds of his health in damage. Took a few swings to break the second bracelet and that killed him before i could even start to break the third. Although it only took me two tries to fight him legit on the first playthrough.

I fought him with a Large Club and in my experience, from hardest to easiest, it went Spear > Straight > Curved > Sorcery. What really terrified me was when he once managed to have Power Within and Crystal Homing Soul Mass up while in Spear form. I freely admit though that I'm absolute trash at dodging thrust attacks for some fucking reason, I always seem to expect the attack just half a second later than it actually is.

Soul of Cinder was great
He wasn't too hard but he doesn't need to be be, the final boss in games like this are better as a spectacle that's fun to fight, like Gehrman who is the only other good Souls final boss
The first phase is moderately challenging and fun thanks to all the movesets (Which being one huge culmination of the Chosen Undead), then the second, while pretty easy, has the emotional factor and is basically Gwyn done right

The souls of cinder was a really good idea. A combination of all the people who linked the fire, a boss that uses many different player tactics. Technically he should be the best final boss we've had so far in souls games, but for some reason I just didn't feel anything after I beat him. No accomplishment, no satisfaction. Only after reading his soul I know what he was.
Moon Presence from bloodborne was a cakewalk but I still felt kiddy after beating him. Same for Gwyn, and even Nashandra from DS2. It's weird.
