At this point, if it isn't Resident Evil, Monster Hunter, or Street Fighter, Capcom couldn't care less. I'm even surprised they're remaking RE2 considering they could've just re-released RE's 4-6 and be done with it.

Also: FUCK YOU CAPCOM AND INAFUNE!!! ;-;

Played them again this year, can confirm that they are indeed fun if you tinker with the controls
>>
>>336652467
>They've gotta be the most out of touch game company

I think you've gotten them confused with Konami a corporation that thinks that making nothing but Pachinko machines and PES games is a good long term strategy
>>
>>336652098
I think they're still making Dead Risings too.
>>
>>336652808
Tinker with the controls? What can you do to "improve" them? No matter what you do, it's still going to be tank controls, and the games control perfectly well to begin with anyway.
>>
>>336652808
There's no saving legends 1. It aged horribly. Rock's clunky, and circle-strafing wrecks everything.
>>
>>336653376
It doesn't need saving, and games don't age.
>>
>>336653376
It still aged a hell of a lot better than nearly every other early 3d game with a controllable camera. The only really bad part about it is that lock on is necessary to hit almost everything but the game roots you in place any time you use it.
>>
>>336653376
It's perfectly fine. The only downside is no analog support.
>>
>>336653569
>The only really bad part about it is that lock on is necessary to hit almost everything but the game roots you in place any time you use it
Fucking what? You barely ever need to use the lock on, it's mostly just for the couple times you run into those ceiling crawling enemies. You autoaim at anything sort of in front of you.
>>
>>336653456
>games don't age.
"Was rendered obsolete."
The interconnected underground and weapon progression is better than 2, but every thing else pales.

>>336653569
I literally never used lock on at any point in the game outside blowing up the news blimp. With a couple points in range, you can hit everything by jumping.
>>
5 years and it still hurts.
>>
>>336650821
Trigger warning that shit.
>>
You know, it's one of the few things that would have got me to go out and buy a 3ds, and I *never* buy a system for just one game.
>>
>>336654202
>The interconnected underground and weapon progression is better than 2, but every thing else pales.
The original has more over its sequel than just that.
It does a much better job fleshing out its game world because unlike the sequel where you hop from location to location to conquer some generic elemental dungeon, the original focuses on a single island and single set of NPCs. You get to see shit change, and see NPCs say different stuff, after every major event, and things like constantly seeing destroyed buildings as a result of a fight earlier in the game adds a bit of weight to the proceedings.

They are well made and very fun to play (except maybe the water one) and the gameplay variety is greatly appreciated, but come on, these are Mario Bros. worlds. It's like they're there because these are the sorts of places you include in a video game.

It isn't "back in my day".

>>
>>336661318
>There has never been any evidence otherwise
What about that point where the development team mentioned they had spoken with management and gotten approval to release the game? Sure seemed like Capcom was willing to go along with the entire development in Inafune's absence.

It just confuses me they were able to come out and say "We're assraping you, our customers for extra money because we got hit by a tsunami" with UMvC3, but couldn't say "Look we gave it a shot but we looked over the numbers again and it's just not going to work. We have quotas, and we have to assign this team to a more profitable game.".

Why would that ever happen? E3 is now more than ever a marketing expo, and Legends 3 will not make investors excited. There's no point in citing 10 when there's no way of knowing how well it did. The only things released after 9 and 10 are ports and rereleases.

However, Capcom updated the lifetime sales of Mega Man from 29 million to 30 million from 2011 to 2013, so it's still selling decently from those ports and re-releases alone.

Tank controls are basically character-relative, as opposed to camera-relative movement.
In games like Mega Man Legends and Resident Evil 4, the camera and character are more or less attached to each other, but it's still tank controls.

If they had the same kind of drive that Nintendo had to make Mario Maker, it could have really been something. But like >>336659649 gets at, they just didn't know how to advertise what the possibilities could be. But the only community-driven platformer creation software to compare to was Little Big Planet (which sucked), so they were pretty much going into uncharted territory.

Now that Mario Maker has pretty firmly created an audience for a game about designing levels using an established license, it would be great to see what Mega Man Universe could do. Too bad there's no justice in this world.

Right aren't those placed on the interior of the jewel case?

Okay, that's fair. I feel it's a bit of an overly literal interpretation, but whatever.

Wasn't Megaman Legends essentially a Zelda clone?
>>
>>336663883
No, not unless you think Zelda invented the action adventure genre.

If you mean Ocarina of Time: You should check the games' release dates.

>Considering the series is dead and fan reaction was mostly negative, it's obvious that the sales were abysmal.
Conjecture. Your guess is as good as mine as to what the numbers are. In acknowledgement of this, I say that MM10 is the greatest selling game of all time.
>Citing "well this ONE specific game sold really well!" is completely irrelevant.
But citing the most recent and best example available is completely relevant.

>tfw they pull the plug for good

Yes because it would probably have ended up like Mighty No 9
