I really don't know what people see in these games. I've played all three and only the second is somewhat decent. 1 and 3 are hot garbage. The story is mildly interesting but very predictable. Drake climbs stuff and falls a lot. Late game enemies are bullet sponges. These games are mediocre at best.

Take any hyped AAA game and subtract two points from it.
Take The Last of Us for example. Decent story (though it took a lot of inspiration from other post apocalyptic movies), meaty gunplay, and some interesting stealth, but bogged down by tons of walking sections and ladder "puzzles". Took me like twelve hours to go through the game once, went through again on a harder difficulty with unlockable shit. Solid 7.5/10 game.
Same thing with this game here. It's probably a good game, it's just not 9.5/10 GOTY material.

How is it not? Blizzard spent so much time on voice acting and cinematic shorts like Recall, but they didn't bother to throw a penny into balancing the game for the open beta happening right now. I don't think any of those games really did anything to deserve a higher spot to be honestly perfect with you. Xcom had too many balance issues, DS3 has too many online cheaters, Starfox relies too much on one time gimmicks, Kirby is too casual, Nioh is just Japanese god of War (play differences aside, it's just a violent and angry guy killing things. wow so original!). SFV and Pokken are just generic fighters that rely on fanservice instead of gameplay balance, or even having stable servers, and Overwatch is from Blizzard. That should speak for itself.

I know the latter has been shitposted into oblivion and back for various (and understandable) reasons, but from the first few videos I've watched it is already leagues above CS. Once you get past the high of collecting and digivoling, you are left with bland dungeons and a combat system that as a Pokemon fan left me underwhelmed. I can't enjoy the gameplay when it's constantly interrupted by the game being as edgy as possible and showing me an unskippable cutscene of Kratos ripping a satyr's intestines out and choking his unborn child to death with it. It's called pacing and proper atmosphere, and making your game just beyond edgy ruins it. It's also a waste of money and time that could've gone elsewhere. Likewise with Nioh, they spend so much time and money on the characters exploding into clouds of blood when they die, yet the gameplay can be simplified down to the same thing that Dark Souls suffers from, although replace "dodge rolling" with "hit them, back away, hit them again". For an early access game, this is a little primitive.

I don't see how. Even on 9.0, it was easy enough to beat if you just paced yourself, since enemies telegraph their attacks like it's going out of style. Of course, that's not to mention the obnoxious, overbearing story that just kept butting into the game every 5 seconds. Every other moment I had to listen to Viridi make a snarky comment about how duh humans are stupid, or Hades trying to be the next Joker with his dumb memes, or Pit trying and failing to act (hey guys, he ripped through the credits! haha what an epic jokester XD!)
