Honestly, I've never seen a fucking company be so utterly fucking tone deaf to what their core consumers want/need from them in order for them to remain customers.
I know that Nintendo Japan's release timetable and restrictions are probably limiting them a bit, but NoA's PR department is so ludicrously inept that it's fucking frustrating. A trained monkey could probably do a better job.
With a new console on the horizon, even if they don't plan on showing it, they should be putting as much effort as possible into exciting their fans so that they make a lot of noise and attract new potential customers to check out their new console when they're ready to reveal it. Instead, they're handling the transition in the worst way possible by pissing off their existing fanbase and scaring away people who now have no faith in Nintendo or think the NX will be DOA like the Wii U.
With all the bad press and a legendarily bad E3 last year, they really needed to come out swinging this time around... but they're not.
