I can't seem to get gud. Everyone just puts buttons right where I think they won't, and hold back when I think they will. I can't even stop being thrown whenever it's attempted, not at all able to react or see it coming. No other fighting game has made me feel shitty about wins, and extra shitty about loses, I guess because I have such a hard time walking away from online matches having learned some kind of clear lesson. It's all just "why did that happen? he just does that whenever and it's over?" in between dropped combos and mistimed meaties/etc.
In MKX, I could just force my 50/50s all day. In GG, it was all about the varied ways of applying pressure. I can't seem to do either of those here, with stubby normals and most things negative on block and "random" DPs fucking anything I try. Never had learning pains this bad from a fighting game.

In addition to what's up above, grabs are really the only hard counter to parries. Just predict when the opponent will parry and play accordingly

This is really the only one I'm sort of with you on. In most instances I would either throw fireballs or dash in far enough where they'll stop whiffing. Both work well for me.

Not that guy, but for me it's honestly everything outside the actual fighting itself. Matches are short, damage is high, stun is high. I love all these things. What I don't like is having to switch through menus every time I want to change characters or stages for Ranked and Casual matches. I don't like spending more time waiting for matches than I actually spend playing the game. I don't like SFV's ranking system where it's a completely mixed bag if I'll actually be fighting someone that matches my skill level. I'm not getting frustrated at losing, I'm getting frustrated at being punished for playing the game.
