I shine out of shield by holding R for shield, hitting X then down B. I'm still working on putting a waveglide, doubleshine, upsmash, or grab out of that. I can do the shine out of shield, but after that i haven't gotten the timing quite right.

For shine grabs, I usually play Falco so it's more of a shield pressure mixup for me. IE nair into shine into grab instead of retreating dair/crossup.

You can jump outa shield and shine without actually letting go of the shield button. it's the same input as short-hop shine, just made more difficult by the whole timing aspect with letting go of shield. Shine-GRAB is actually pretty tough to do. You kinda have to master jump-cancels AND multishines ot be able to do it optimally. Don't worry about it too much. Personally I like to waveshine and get behind their shield if possible and keep up the pressure. Waveshine away if you're doubtful. You could of course waveshine-grab as an easier(i think) input too but if their timing is really good they could reverse it on you.

His ledge dash is the longest in the game and if you roll right after it you cover like 80% of Battlefield's distance. Is a pretty good get the fuck out of me option.
Also Perfect Ledge Dash Turnaround Dsmash or Grab/Jab is godlike.
The no-impact-landing is good if you can do the Invincible jab, but the timing is frame perfect.

I'm 100% a scrub, but i picked up Ganon against my mates after discovering how deep the Melee scene was, and finding noob Ganon unbelievably terrible, i decided find out how to make him good, so all my thoughts stem from BizarroFlame and Kage's matches, but here goes some thoughts.
>chain grab is underused definitely, and a grab to a read fair/aerial is pretty decent finisher
>Biz's wavelands and ledgedashes are the stuff of legend, but he often falls onto using them FAR too much, and uses Jab too much over ftilt and maybe (not the best option all the time but should still be viable) dtilt
>though he isn't the speed monster Falcon is, no player should feel safe being above Ganon with his uair, which when combined with his SFFL is very intimidating and useful, let alone reversing it for cheap gimps
>up-B OOS shield (aka level 9 CPU tech) is also underused, seeing as how it can be moved to either direction
>edge guarding should be any Ganons strong point, what with a semi-spike reverse uair, and strong fair, bair, and not-completely-terrible recovery for going out there
I've commented before that a top 8 Ganon has Kage's fundamentals and discipline, but Biz's movement and willingness to play for the risky dair and style-first but without trying for the "lol I'm just gonna but this utilt out and lose my stock if it misses" BS that often comes out.

The problem with Waveland Dtilt is that it stops your momentum by a lot.
Waveland Low-Ftilt is a better option than Dtilt.
Granted Dtilt can lead into a Fair, but it shortens your distance.
Yeah Hug OoS is criminally underrated. People usually don't go for it since they eat a big punish if they miss, but Ganon eats punishes for missing a tilt, so might as well risk it.
A mix between Kage and Bizz would be the ultimate Ganon, that's for sure.

The Chaingrab is brainded on floaties/semi-floaties like Marth, Peach, Sheik. Marth and Sheik can't escape it if you're good with it, but Peach can just nair out of it at higher %
I've seen Kage chaingrab the fuck out of Sheik from 0% to Death.
Remember when Chaingrabbing you must also practice buffering your Downthrow with the C-stick, as it allows you to gets a free pummel. Since the throw is buffered they CAN NOT mash out. It ends the stock a lot faster and it refreshens your moves too.
From 0-50%: one pummel then C-stick dthrow
50%-100%: two pummels then dthrow
100-150%: three pummels then dthrow
Against Sheik/Marth you want to finish the chaingrabwhile they drift behind you with a bair.

The dthrow chaingrab against fast fallers is another whole thing. You usually just want to dthrow>jab>(missed tech) Fair to finish it.

Plup dropped her pretty hard and has had way more success since, the only person solidly making a claim for her is Duck (Hugs needs to see a psychiatrist, he reminds me of Ben Swain from The Thick of it with those chokes), and he isn't close to getting results to put her that high.

Pretty much all aerials beat eggs, but done correctly Yoshi's ledgestall has 1 frame of vulnerability while also slinging hitboxes out onto the stage for free so it just means Hbox has to aerial eggs for 8 minutes trying to approach ledge but Jiggs can't take the ledge like spacies can because not fast enough.

Samus is kind of like Jigglypuff except on the ground instead of airborne. Like Jiggs the trick is to not let her dictate the spacing because then when you fuck up you get DSmashed and die, instead you want to make Samus feel pressured and punish her mistakes.
Mango can do this because he's almost constantly pressuring anyway, European Foxes try their laser camping on her and it makes it easy for Samus to get underneath them because her ground movement is so good

If you follow the chain, you can see I'm a scrub who mostly just plays Melee with mates (i in fact switched to Fox because of the challenge of controlling the ADHD-bastard) but legitimately think there is room for better Ganondorfs, and the ideal Ganondorf is a Bizarro Flame/Kage hybrid ie great tech skill mixed willingness to extend for an extra stomp but not trying for the fucking utilts all the goddamn time.
