Find a flaw.Apart from discontinued
it has dents over it
>>336483586
The glossy surface gets dirty pretty easily.
They fixed this with the G400.
I used it for years and it still works like new, which is to say flawlessly.
>>336483928
This.
G400 is superior.
logitech made it
all mice they made are garbage
this, this one is garbage as well
>literally the worst angle snapping piece of shit in mouse history
>good
It's not the 502
>>336483586
angle snapping
g500s is perfect though
Shape isn't comfortable for all hand shapes.
And angle snapping.
Why does it look like it has dents all over? It looks fucking atrocious
>>336483586
I have the G400s, is it better than the MX518?
>>336484949
Yes, no angle snapping. If you like the MX518's God-tier ergonomics, the G400s is a straight upgrade.
My mouse history from 2003 when I built my first PC went:
>Off brand garbage ball mouse (remember those?)
>MX518, eventually died
>G400s
Three mice over thirteen years, apart from a Logitech desktop mic I don't think I've got as much lifespan out of any other electrical gadget.
>>336483586
>Angle snapping
>Shit button placement
>Disgusting surface
>Rubbish feeling wheel
>Shape for gripping the sides from the bottom
At least it's durable I suppose.
Any good?
my baby
>>336483586
>tfw my shitty Razer Deatheradder died so I bought 2 G400 and a G400s as backups
I think I'm set for the next 20 years.
>>336486080
>symmetrical
Automatically inferior
I had a sweet Dynex (Best Buy Brand) 5 button that was pretty pimp.
I never used the 5th button, but on my god button 4 was pimp as fuck. And, being the casual I am, I used it for the auto-run key on WoW so I could be ultra lazy.
>>336483586
EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
>Angle snapping
>>336485249
>If you like the MX518's God-tier ergonomics
I owned a G5 years ago, and that had the exact same shape as the MX518. It was the worst mouse I've ever owned. Not only was it a jittery piece of shit, it was uncomfortable as fuck.
I used a MX518/G400 for years and loved it but recently upgraded to a G502. A very similar form factor with some nicer features and a higher DPI. It seems like an objective upgrade and it's pretty affordable.
>>336487263
>>336487263
>and a higher DPI
Meaningless. You're a retard if you aren't running at the sensor's native DPI.
>>336483586
It's not a 400 or 400s
>>336483586
>tfw the cord on my G400 started malfuctioning
>need a new mouse for my new laptop
>find out they're discontinued
>now I have to settle for inferior mice for the rest of my lifeG300s ain't bad once you get used to the smaller size though
>>336484024
>>336483928
>$100+ for a mouse
nah...
>>336487219
I can't speak for the G5's sensor having never owned one, but the MX518/G400s feels like it was made for my hand. Your hand and your grip are sure to be different, which is why anyone claiming there is one 'best mouse' is talking out of their arse.
I dunno, either the mouse is perfect for my grip or my grip has adjusted to fit the mouse over the years. Either way it's the only mouse that feels right for me now.
>>336485249
what's the best surface to use a G400s? I'm currently using a QcK+ (I have a big desk) and it's pretty good since the mouse feet are teflon but I'm wondering if there's anything better
This is the best mouse I've ever used. It's so lightweight, glides so smoothly and has such an accurate sensor that it feels like I'm not even holding anything. And it doesn't have an obnoxious GAYMER design, which makes it even better.
>>336487870
jesus christ, clean your fucking mousepad
>>336488165
I have a QcK+ with my G400s too. I love it. Prior to that I used a no-name metal mouse pad, it was a piece of shit.
>>336488092
I got mine for 25€.
Problem I've had with all my logitech mice is that the LMB eventually breaks in a really annoying way. It doesn't just stop working, it carries on working, but gradually gets wronger and wronger. So right now I can't actually hold the mouse button down properly because it randomly "lets go" even when my finger's down. Sometimes it'll double click when I click once etc.
Up until that point though logitech mice are my favourite.
>>336488327
just replace the switches
>>336488092
Isn't it only 100+ because they stopped production? I got my for 39.99

>>336488463
when did they stop production of the g400s?
Anybody else g9 master race?
>>336488578
I'm not sure exactly when, but they no longer have them on the website, and the ones on amazon are like $200+. I'm taking the black ones.
>>336487263
My big problem with it is the glowing light on the G gets really annoying during the late night times. Never looked to see if there's a way to disable it.
anybody got this?
In my life I had three mice before that, last being one of those big microsoft sidewinders they don't make anymore.
At this point I just care about ergonomics, mice smaller that C-cup titty just make my hands hurt
>>336483586
the mouse looks like it's been hit with a hammer
>>336488824
Been using this for the last 6 years. Heard they broke down easily or something but I had no issues with it ever.
The surface under the thumb and on the buttons has big polished circles on them and the paint coating came off from all the friction over the years.
Move along, best mouse coming through
>>336488824
It's right there in the driver program you double nigger
>>336489023
>>336489080

>>336489219
What's wrong with the mouse you have, anon?
>>336488256
clean your fucking keyboard while you're at it
>>336488549
I've used two different Death Adders since my girlfriend liked them and we shared a PC at the time, and both of their sensors went retarded after less than a year. Also had a Razer mousepad that within 4 months wore down in certain spots and the mouse wouldn't work if gliding over those spots. Literally never again.
>people spend over $100 for keyboards that go "TAK TAK TAK"
>people refuse to spend money on a quality mouse
Let's face it
Quality mouse > quality keyboard
>>336489446
LMB is worn out which made the matte finish go shiny.
and might give it to sister because she's too lazy to get a new mouse for herself.
>All these ugly mouses with more than two clicks and a scroll wheel
Fucking PCucks
>>336488653
Literally came in this thread to post this
>>336489609
This is true. Even shit old keyboards are acceptable until the keys start sticking or they get fucked up in some other way.
>>336489609
I can manage without a mouse, not without a keyboard
also, if you think mechanical keyboard features are limited to being loud, you're retarded
>>336483586

>>336488239
>doesn't have an obnoxious GAYMER design
>Pulsating blue LEDs with neon logo
It has less macro buttons than the G500.
>>336489609
>tfw still use those indestructible dell keyboards that came with a pre-built
And it even has nice clakking for being a rubber dome.
Still want a real MK though. I just have no reason to.
>>336488653
I've had one for about 5 years. It has served me oh so well.
It died a few days ago, transitioning to an MX Master. (it arrives tomorrow)
Anyone used an MX Master? Thoughts?
>>336483586
>m4 and m5 on the same side
it's shit.
Been using a roccat kone+ for some time now and its still holding up really well.
I've had to fix a double click issue twice, some of the stuff at the bottom that is supposed to keep it smooth is coming off or is already scratched of and most of the outer coating on the mouse buttons is gone, but aside from that its still standing strong.
had this baby for two years, still works and feels like new.
The day she goes im picking up another one. sworn to this mouse

Actually kill yourself.
>>336490454

When it comes to computer mice, there is shit and there is standard with nothing in between. Your gameplay will not differ with a $200 mouse anymore than it will with a $30 mouse

>>336488239

Best of luck to yours - may this never happen to you.
G502s master race.
Pic related for poorfags. It's the comfiest mouse in the galaxy
I must have terrible luck with mice. I've had an original Deathadder with a dodgy scroll wheel, a 2013 Deathadder that double-clicked, a Zowie EC1-A with tracking issues unless you let it "warm up" for 5 minutes first.
And now I just bought an FK1, which straight out of the box; the cursor gets stuck if you lift it up and put it down even a little bit.
>>336483586
Is there any mouse thats comparable to this or g400 thats not discontinued ?
The only thing I've seen in the suggestions is Sensei from steelseries.
>>336492315
I'm wondering about that too.
My G400 is pretty beat up.
>>336492660
That shit's like 50 yoros where I live. Damn.
>>336492315
Well the g402 isn't that bad, I just hate how they had to go with literal edginess for the design, so it took me a while to get used to the pointy side buttons. Other than that the shape and feel is pretty much the same.
>>336492315
The G400SIt's also discontinued ;_;
>>336485320
What? Are you high with something? Literally none of those things happen.
>>336492820
>>336488239
Goddamn I hate the edgy design, but if you say so...
>>336492315
I'm using a Sensei RAW right now and it's a pretty solid mouse that comes at a nice price, but it's an ambidextrous mouse so the grip and feel is pretty different compared to something like the MX518/G400/G502.
Sadly I'll probably have to hunt for a new mouse due to my awful grip which is like 80% Palm/20% Fingertip keeps my thumb just a bit short of the mouse 5 button.
I've been through the deathadder, g9 and g9x and some swedish mouse shit.
The MX performance mouse is the best one I've tried, fuck gaming shit.
Might get the new one because that one looks even more comfortable.
I've used max518 past 7 years, no need to ugprade yet

>>336493143
I'm using the same. Mouse wheel has been squeaking since month 2, cleaned and oiled it a couple times but no help. I prefer having buttons on both sides of a mouse which is the main reason I've been hesitant to switch to the G502. Everything is on the left side of the mouse and the right just looks vacant.
>>336493814

>>336493851
What...? The logo looks completely normal and the lights can be turned off. The shape is completely ergonomic.
>>336493056
I would have bought another g400 but being discontinued and shit you are gonna pay a premium for them, and I was tight on money. And all that was wrong with mine was the occasional double click, but goddamn they would always happen when it would disrupt me the most.
>>336494718
capitalism
where discontinuing superior products is profitable
I've been using this cheap 3 button mouse that came in a $20 mouse+kb package, and it's comfy.
Would getting a name brand mouse really improve anything? Best "real" mouse for claw grip?
>>336495059
everyone has different hands so it depends
This little baby has served me well so far
This is the best mouse I've ever used for all-purpose stuff. (Zowie Mico.)
Unfortunately, it was discontinued.
I also like the Logitech G600 for hotkey stuff. That third click is fucking OP.
I also have a Kensington trackball that I use sometimes in DAWs and video editing.
>>336495059
>Would getting a name brand mouse really improve anything?
Would it help you do better in games? Eh, not necessarily.
Would it be hard to go back to a cheap mouse after using a nice one? Yes, extremely.
>>336494718
I've retired my old g400 after it started disconnecting itself once every hour or so and now use it in the office, I leave it there over night
Is it a collectors item now? Should I maybe lock it away?
>>336495295
G600 is waaaaay too many buttons for my taste, I would just push the wrong one too many times and hit myself with it out of frustration.
>>336483586
Been using this one for 3 years now, still works perfectly.
>>336490031
Death Adder and Black Widow are the only good things to ever come out of Razer. I've my deathadder 3.5g for... over 6 years now? One of the side buttons is broke, but that was my fault. I have a slight issue with my scroll wheel scrolling up a tick every now and then when scrolling down, but that's a minor issue to have after 6 fucking years of HEAVY use.
I'm not sure how the Blackwidow stands up today, but at launch, $80 for a mechanical keyboard was a fucking bargain. only gripe is the glossy finish, which they've fixed on newer models.
>>336495474
It's kinda like the Razer Naga though, you just have to get used to it and then you can shred.
>>336483586
Since the g400 and its kin are fucking expensive now? is the g402 good? i've seen people recommending the g502 but that shit is LAYZER.

Light inside also died pretty quick.
Upside is that I went through about 4 of them for the price of one thanks to the replacemnt warranty.
Anyone got a Steelseries Rival 300? Thinking about buying one to replace my Logitech G400s, don't know if it will be as good though.
g100s is great, good for both RTS and FPS games, and can be used in all the standard types of grips. I do like my Zowie ec2-a and g400s for palming though.
