>EA isn’t letting any opportunity slip away with regard to its Star Wars license. Star Wars Battlefront out (and getting DLC support), Visceral’s Star Wars project led by Amy Hennig is lingering in the shadows, and now Respawn is working on the franchise in partnership with EA.
>In a joint announcement today, EA revealed that Respawn is working on a third-person action game set in the Star Wars universe. The game is being led by God of War 3 director Stig Asmussen, who joined Respawn in 2014.
>“Over the past few years, I’ve had the opportunity to spend a lot of time with Vince Zampella and his group,” writes EA studios executive vice president Patrick Söderlund. “Their obsession with making games that feel amazing has helped make Titanfall one of the most successful new game launches of this generation. And now, with a new team led by Stig Asmussen, we get to see what they can do when you combine that great attention to gameplay with the power of Star Wars.”

its a basic squad shooter, the set pieces are handled really well and the squad commands were handled by a real black ops instructor. Its not amazing or anything but its a bit grittier than other star wars games. No jedi or force shit, just clones and droids and brotherhood.

Unfortunately there's not enough development time left for them to be making a Rogue One tie-in. A Republic Commando spiritual successor would make the most sense with that film since it is about the boots on the ground experience and not the jedi.
