You weren't around before TF2 was F2P, but they weren't always trash. Sure, they aren't as good at pugs or a league match (both of which I have actually played, nice work basing a counter-argument on a baseless presumption by the way), but Valve giving access to the game to anyone and everyone has diluted the skill level considerably. Sometimes I just want to load up the game and play a semi-decent match without all the waiting and organization that comes with pugs, lobbies and leagues (not to mention the drama with the last). before it went f2p, i could do this most of the time. Once you go through all the characters, there's nothing really left in the game. At that point you're just playing for the possible gratification of opening a loot box - which contains just a bunch of sprays, that for some reason have to be unlocked and equipped individually with each character. There's absolutely no individual skill ceiling because characters are locked into archetypes of either high damage low health, or low health, medium damage and high mobility, or just low health low damage high utility and vice versa. The tactical component is completely shallow and you need 5 friends to play the game with in order to go with the meta of the current map, otherwise you endanger your sanity. There's no twitch skills required, no reflexes, no map knowledge, barely any character knowledge. It's a boring game and I honestly feel bad for my friends who actually bought it because they wanted to play it early.
What can I do to improve my aim?

You don't really need aim in Overwatch, it has an inbuilt aim assistance like halo does. As long as your reticule is close enough, they have like massive hitboxes.

The shallow characters is the biggest problem. Instead of making 10 powerful characters they made 20 weak ones, to the point where you can't do much alone. There's a couple of characters with ceiling higher than others who can potentially slow down the opponents (like Widow), but overall it's all about the teamplay / skill usage timing rather than individual skill
Just imagine if they compressed the current 20 characters to 10, and each one had more weapons, more abilities, or some actual personality.

I'm playing on PC, widowmaker is affected by it too. As long as 2-3 cm of your reticule is over an enemy, it will hit regardless. Reaper is an even better example, you can hit enemies from really far away (for chip damage though) and it doesn't really matter where your individual shells hit - they all hit everything in your circular crosshair.

Game is a blast and I'm having fun with it. Playing with randoms however is infuriating. Everyone just sticks to one class and don''t bother caring about group make up.
Mainly support, I find myself having to switch to support 95% of the games I play by myself.
Good thing I enjoy Zenyatta and Lucio gameplay. However playing this game with friends is fun. Calling out ultimates, character locations, moving as a team, combining ultimates, denying enemy ultimates.
