Uncharted is the single biggest force pushing the cinematic cancer that is plaguing the industry. This ridiculous idea that games need to have a "cinematic approach" at the forefront of their design and execution.
I've played All 3 games and they're all mediocre repetitive linear experiences with mundane combat sequences and next to no real unique player input required.

Ive played all 3 games too. They do a good job of blending shooting, platforming and puzzles into one game not to mention theres mp and co op.
Its strange how i see people complain about uncharted being linear and repetitive but ive never seen the same said of gears of war which when in played it was literally shoot cover shoot from start to finish and that game got 9s and 10s too.

The shooting, platforming and puzzling rarely come into contact though. In 4 it looks like they're be fixing it a bit with more shootout environments with shit to climb on or the rope mechanic, but in the last games the jumping and shooting were pretty firmly segmented.
I played through the first 3 uncharteds with my girlfriend, mostly for the story but I was tired of the gameplay after 3 and it seemed to end on a decent note.
Then we got a Wii U, that's all we've played since 2013.
Yesterday we were watching TV and an Uncharted 4 commercial came on. here's how it went:

When you put so much focus on making the main characters / aspects look realistic and there is something in the background or a very minor detail thats a miss then the whole thing just looks like trash. Its the same shitty feeling as putting cartoon characters in a live movie. Its not possible to make literally everything equally realistic. And even if you had the time / resource to do so whats the point? When you make shit uncanny realistic, you can't even have a art style anymore.
