Whenever I gold phantomed for Fume Knight, most people summoned the worthless crap NPC phantom that's outside the fog gate (the one with the fist weapons).
Not only does that bitch do no damage and increase Fume Knights HP just by being summoned, but she also has an annoying tendency to pull agro and then stand around in one of the healing auras the host didn't get rid of because he ran out of stakes

This is actually true. I recently went back and replayed DaS1 and I realized that those two fuckers aren't even really that aggressive. Each of them only attacks like once every 5 seconds. No seriously, go back and play it and just sit between the two of them. They genuinely rarely actually attack. They just imposingly advance on you most of the time, looking scary because there are 2 of them. And when you face the Buffed one, it's even easier because you notice the lack of actual aggression even more.If they were both in DaS3, shit would actually be hard because they'd actually be aggressive and would know how to turn when they attack.

The the dodge only gives you so many iframes, but your hurtbox doesn't update until the roll is complete, so if you're near the end of a roll and something hits where you started from, you're fucked.

Absolutely everything in Dark Souls II was weak to this strat.
Estus in 1 was pretty good mechanic aside from kindling giving you a bit too much of it, it made no sense to have 99 lifegems in DS2 and just allow the player to spam them for comfortable regen effect.

Which is actually advantageous as you can take some sips, tank damage, escape and let the slow regen heal you to full HP. I abused this a lot in both PvE but especially PvP.
In theory you would just get killed because the effect isn't instant, but in practice if you always try to keep your HP at more than 50% which careful player will do the system rewards you for carelessly spamming healing items instead of punishing you for it.

It's also the slowest of the games and like said, why would it matter that it's slow as shit when, even if you get hit, you can leave with full HP? In I and III a lot of the time popping estus at wrong spot just leads to you first recovering your HP, but then losing it immediately afterwards, which just means you've wasted resources as not healing in the first place would have not lead to you being hit.
Obviously beginners who just try to conserve estus by healing at last moment get punished for it, but not people who use it as a quick way to make sure they stay alive.
