I loved COD4. I was thoroughly disappointed with MW2 though, because the multiplayer was broken. The single player was fun but I ended up trading it in after playing the multiplayer for like 2 hours, because I was not having fun. Never bought another game in the series after that, although I had fun playing Nazi Zombies with friends locally.

The story gets way too much shit. Christopher Meloni carries the fuck of that campaign and it's pretty trippy. The zed campaign is nice for the simple fact that Treyarch wanted to throw some more single player content in. But the 30fps cutscene and 60fps gameplay is fucking irritating.
Zed mode is the best in the series. MP is actually pretty fun if you like a watered down Adv. Warfare. Overall it's nothing new but it's certainly worth the going rate on Amazon.
Chances are the life of the game will last awhile because Infinite is gonna shit the bed and so will Adv. Warfare 2.

Do people want CoD to go back to WW2 or not? Or other warfare that ISN'T set in modern times, like Black Ops 1? I don't stay in the loop about the what and why of CoD-bitching from the fanbase, but WaW was probably the swan song for a CoD game in it's most traditional sense, because as of now, I can't think of anything new to add to the setting that a fuckton of other games and franchises have done already
I think WW2 as a setting is pretty stagnant and run-dry at this point, assuming you don't go the Wolfenstein route with making the entire thing more over-the-top than CoD usually gets, which is why if they have to plug WW2, they go with Nazi zombies in it's own self-contained thing away from the main story
