Has there been a single game that makes good use of the early access system?
No.
Darkest Dungeon
ksp, but that's about it.
Original sin, the are available on EA was waaay more polished than the rest of the game
Dirt Rally, but it's out now.
I've seen several steam games with early access user reviews that say
"SHIT IS BROKEN
edit: nvm has been fixed now"
Does that count?
Final fantasy xv

>ksp
Are you being sarcastic? I genuinely can't tell.
>>336401517
KSP's physics system is absolutely broken and has only gotten shitty quick-fixes and patch-overs for the most awful bugs instead of the thorough reprogramming it deserves.
speedrunners

KSP
Rivals of Aether

They got rid of most of the bugs in the 1.1 64 bit update. They advertised it all over Steam, does the game a world of good
>>336401676
>distance
Its current state is pretty solid but is still in early access so is a little early to tell
If by good use you mean scamming ADHD retards and making mad bank with an incomplete game, all of them zombie/dinosaur crafting survival open world games did a good job at that
>>336401349
Paint the town red was fun from the start and has only gotten better.
>>336401349
I think grim dawn was kickstarted, but I dont know about ea
>yfw dayz has been in early alpha since 2013
>>336401785
Disregarding all of the shit that the developers pulled, the 1.1 update came out after it was out of early access, so that doesn't really answer OP's question.
>>336401826
>man this game looks like it could be cool

Road Redemption until the whole thing seems to have stopped.
the only one that comes to mind is Speedrunners

>tfw I played it for three hours hating every minute and am now stuck with it forever.
Road Redemption.
Apparently it's set for full release at the end of the Summer. I remember when it first came out a couple years ago, it was constantly being updated. I did pretty much everything there was to do and unlocked every achievement though so I haven't played in a while.
>>336402027
I'm feeling many types of schadenfreude over that one. Shitty devs, shitty game made for shitty people.
>>336402179
Thank you for not being an idiot.

Does it really count when they missed their stated goals and had to release an 'enhanced edition' later and still had delays in delivering what they promised?
>>336402179
Came here to post Factorio, it's the perfect example. I've never seen a more transparent development team.
Nuclear Throne and Caves of Qud
>>336405295
I absolutely hated the "enhanced" edition, they ruined the voice acting
>>336401349
Don't Starve Together
Originally given away for free for those who had the single player version of Don't Starve. Those people were rewarded with beta testing the multiplayer version without ever having to do anything extra.
>>336406006
What's wrong with the Enhanced Edition? Can you explain?
NEO Scavenger was alright, if a bit limited in scope
SNOW is a helluva lot better than it was at beta launch (though it's still incredibly unoptimized and buggy)
Killing Floor 2 was at least stable when they pushed it into EA, but the content drip is shit and TWI went overboard with DLC before release
So I guess nothing really worked
>>336407173
I just said, the voice acting
They also haven't replaced the shitty "stare at the screen real close to find switches" puzzles with something better
>>336401349
Street Fighter V

What happened to the voice acting though?
>>336408797
Compare this with current voices
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XrySFvAqtKA
Every single voice got worse
Too forced, too drawn out, not memorable
I hate it, it's shit
>>336401349
Factorio, TIS-100, and maybe Necrodancer if that's your thing.
>>336401517
lol
The only game I've been pretty impressed with is Unturned. Free to play early access. I have about 40 hours played with a few friends.
Stonehearth has been having some huge updates nearly weekly.
>>336407891
Killing Floor 2 was a boat made of pitch that was set out already leaking while the developers promised not to start a fire but snuck on a gallon of lighter fluid and a flamethrower. I'm glad I decided to wait for the full release so that now I know I won't buy the full release. It makes me super pissed off that promised a full release in a year, and here's the year, and they hardy have even half the promised content.
