Orkz are melee oriented, but Eldar have Banshees and SM have assault marines and terminators to defend against them.
Eldar have great firepower, but assault marines and stormboyz can both drop in on them to tie them up.
SM well-rounded, but can hold back melee as well as exchange in a firefight.
Now, if it was, say, Necron < Tau < Orkz I might be inclined to agree.
Orkz are fast enough to get right on top of Tau and slaughter them without mercy
Tau take advantage of Necron's slow pacing and can gun them down before they reach them
Necrons are hardy enough to tie up Ork units long enough for their ranged units to kill them.

The lack of forward movement in MechWarrior also depressed me. Living in a time of great machines that you can use but not understand is gut-wrenching.

I understand why people hate DoW2 after DoW1. But what I don't understand is why you can't just like DoW2 for what it was. I loved equipping my dudes with new gear and the spectacle of being just a couple of space marines kicking all the ass.

Even then Tau plasma is slightly weaker and only equipped on their battle suits. They don't have a form that their infantry can use like Marines do. They would also have to hit the Marines who are retardedly fast for their size and very effectively shooting back with similar weaponry.

Eldar are Space elves with loads of ancient relics and act like elves do "we're better than everyone but lose ALL THE TIME"
Orks are a big dumb war race. Tons of fun to read about and play. There will never be peace if there are orks (also seem to get manipulated by Chaos a lot)
Don't know much about Tau. I think they are robots/have advanced so that the robots do all the fighting
Necrons are the never ending death march to consume the galaxy. Best comparison I can think of are the collectors from Mass Effect.
