I liked 2070. 2205 isn't multiplayer so they can fuck off, won't buy until then

Anno 1404 with Venice expansions is the best. Pinnacle of it's genre.

>>336381020
they really had architecture that advanced in the year 1404? wat
The new Anno was such a disappointment, 1701 and 1404 were the best Anno games.
>>336381258
Are you for real?
For OP, Underrail was legit as good as fucking Fallout or Arcanum, I never thought an RPG this good would be made these days.
Where do I start? 1701 or 1404?

1404 is basically all the good parts of the previous Anno games combined into a single masterpiece.
If you want more you can try out 2070, which is nowhere close as comfy and "complete" but has some very neat ideas and a somewhat refreshing setting.

Cool, thanks. Going to get the GOG version, any patches or other such things that I "need"?

Where can I pirate this DRM-ridden disaster of a game?
Recommending Settlers 6/7 for comfy/casual Anno.
7 is quite intense though

They removed all the DRM on the Steam version, don't know about GOG though

>>336382225
actually what i like is that the resources "don't end" like in 2070 for example. You can fucking exhaust your resource pool which is annoying as thousand nigger dicks in the asshole. I have to constantly remember to produce those shitty resource replenishers and if i can't then i have to re-build whole production chain somewhere else. Jesus why did they do this, who though it would be a good idea.
The global resources mechanic from 2205 is great imo, except what you said fucking loading and split maps.
Also the ability to just move built buildings and place them somewhere else.
Now i don't have to plan 1000 buildings ahead to make comfy city
>>336382643
Oh. Maybe i'll give multiplayer a try if it's still alive on Venice
>>336382721
That's not Roach.
>>336382876

>>336382775
too bad Venice is just a neutral faction that you can't even play as.
>>336382738
>>336382826
I think what happened is they patched it out, so you need to download the patch to remove it. Steam does this automatically if you're online. I guess that's why it's listed in the store page, because the original game still comes with it.

I mean, it's okay I guess. If it had a working economy like in 1602, the game would actually be really good.
The A.I. can just magically obtain resources and you can never really dominate the market. No matter if you have a monopoly, if you place the price above the "comfort zone", A.I. won't buy it and still advance somehow.
Such a shame.
>>336382490

its renamed Dawn of Discovery

How is the combat in Anno 1404?
>>336384667
They unlisted it for a while, it's back up just look for anno
>>336385114
Sea combat is OK, conquering is shit honestly and can take a long time, but the city building is what the game is for if you're not after the achievements.
>>336384809
Americans don't know what Anno means.
>>336385114
>How is the combat in Anno 1404?
Simple but fit's game imho.
Sea combat is great. You can build few types of ships from North and South (Arabs) and also from neutral AI players. Also from pirates.
You have few slots on each ship (from one to 4-5?), you can add many things that give bonus to some shit- dmg, speed, storage space etc. Also one-time use consumables.
Land combat is slower, but it's nice. Few types of units, mercenaries, walls, towers, catles.. I liked it.

Nigga, do you even know shit about how they decide what the year is? It'd be 1503.
>>336389505
nigga that's a different sub-genere.
AoE is classic RTS, docused 25% on economy, 25% on base building and 50% on fighting. Things like trading etc. are so small it's not even worth mentioning.
Anno is a economic rts. It's focused in 75% on economy- income, production chains, trading, taxes. There's a lil bit of fighting and and a lot of base building, but it mostly falls into ecenomy management than defense palnning.
There are a lot of decorations in Anno 1404, but it's a cherry on top of a late game.
Just get Anno 1404 Gold. You won't regret it.

Did your parents never take you to museums when you were little? Humans have been around for a very long time and because of that, we've had a lot of time figuring out architecture and what does and doesn't work.
artstyle is great for both cultures, ofc Western islands are better with all that grass and trees.
Anno is loved here?
