It was a nice game for me, and i enjoyed the multitudes of styles both characters had, and that they both feel so different. But still, i enjoyed the atmosphere in DMC 3 more.

I loved it outside of the platforming, best taunts, best visuals, best combat, it's not so hot on the enemy design but I think it's better than DMC3 in that respect since their all relatively fun to mess around with, I do think it has better boss fights than the majority of 3 as well but that's because there were less of them. DMC5 should be very much more polished than it though and improve the current characters than make new ones. Keep Dante as is but build up the styles again.

Finished DMC1 recently, what a goddamn masterpiece. How have I not played this yet when DMC3 was one of my favourite games of all time?
I started DMC2 and noticed some things that were worse but altogether it's not that bad so far, I just beat the Infested Chopper bosswho was a crazy damage sponge, I hope it was the only boss like this.
I also noticed that there are a few different combos you can do in DMC2 but I really don't know how to use them. The rapid stab combo from DMC1 if you delay the attack is not there I think. At least dodge rolling is better in DMC2 but it makes checking the environment for descriptions annoying as fuck.

This is the 2d version, it has dmc3 story and only 2 weapons. It's the one ppl know better because it is easy to emulate. The 3d one has exactly 1 video on YouTube, and many think it's the same of stuff the 2d version.

I gave up DMC3 on normal mode on the last last vergil fight (I looked it up). I beat DMC1 though, just normal mode. The ending of that game is easy. Of course not. E&I and Rebellion are a god-tier set. I recommend you to also carry the sniper riffle, although your second devil arm is all a matter of preference.
Make sure to upgrade your life, get all of Rebellion's moves and try to learn Vergil's patterns. In his fight feel free to run away whenever he starts spamming his fullscreen attacks; just don't let him recover too much health with when hi has his Devil Trigger activated.
Trickster is a very solid style for beginners.
Trust me, we've all been there, keep trying and don't give up.

People who start with 3 usually get their shit pushed in so hard that they quit entirely.
1 hasn't aged very well though, and it's combat and combo scoring is different from later games.
I'd say, start with DMC3SE (on easy if you have to) just because the transition into other DMC games is easier after you've beaten 3. Make sure you're playing on gold mode and not yellow

You should only jump straight into DMC3 if you are disappointed with videogames or something. Otherwise, playing in release order makes everything all the sweeter.

I think 2-3 characters would be nice, if they were all about as deep as DMC3 Dante at least. I definitely agree that more characters do 'dilute' the depth of the game but if the budget were high enough, then it might not matter. Even still, Dante, Nero, and Vergil at least would be fine with me. They are the stars, more or less.
So far as new characters go, I'd like to see a character who must stay in DT mode at all times, with gameplay being all about keeping his DT meter up and staying in DT mode as much as you can. Some kind of spellcaster character would be nice too.

You can't slash or shoot the loading screen / 10It's solid, although my PS3 freezes for a second on each playthrough. It is nothing game breaking though, and aside from that, it runs well.
I just want another devil may cry game that focuses on dante for the entirety of the game (20 missions) other characters could have story too maybe their own missions. But dantes play style is my favorite compared to the other characters. Plus maybe a villian that can even make dante have to go serious possibly? Return of mundus?

For example, the anime had this story about Sparda's secret disciple and I considered it to be well handled.
Dante is pretty damn powerful thanks to his genes and his experience, but the world of DMC is still full of untapped potential for lore and characters.

I have other problems with DMC4
I wish it had better enemy design. I could deal with the back tracking and it has the best combat system for sure. However, the enemies are not fun to fight. Shit like the lightning "lel shoot me until I'm vulnerable" and those knights just weren't fun to fight at all. They required really awkward tactics that didn't feel fun.
