Hey gy guys i just heard that there are custom maps on Dota2.
How are they? Do enough people play them? Are they fun as Wc3 meps?
I'm considering on downloading dotard just for the custom meps, not interested in the actual game.
Don't expect anything good from the Source engine.
Only games of note are fate/another and Touhou Defense of the shrines.

No its just a shitty moba custom game were you play as 2hu's and 80% of characters are bullshit op and there are a whole new set of items. Its fun for a while but after a couple of weeks you begin to realise it suffers from the same issues as league of legends. (mobile heros are OP because no blink dagger or force staff)

Sure, there is some overlap but we have jews among our comrades. Roshpit Champions is excellent, so is Angel Arena, Element TD etc.

It's shit because there's not even 100 different units that can be used and nearly no buildings and other stuff.
The shit that made WC3 maps so good was because all the different units, buildings and such you could use.
Also the editor is shit compared to the wc3 one.
Also don't expect any proper rts custom games because Source shits itself whenver more than 30 units are on the screen at once

Do you really understand how long it took for RPGs with their own save/load system to happen in the wc3 custom scene? You're expecting more than a decade worth of optimization and understanding of the engine's code in less than 2-3 years.
Even then, it seems some RPGs are starting to be developed.
