This game will be fun. People will call it shit because of the controversy with Dina (despite it not affecting development) and because "4 million dollars" even though the budget was $900,000 and was drastically overfunded.
It will be a solid game whose hype has been annihilated by delays and controversies.
But, it will also be one of the few kickstarter games that has actually ultimately released, and, if they do continue to release the portable versions, as they promise, they will have fulfilled each stretch goal (to my knowledge).

It won't be subpar but it will be regarded as subpar because of all of the delays and controversy and shit.
I really firmly believe that it will be a pretty good game. I don't think they would have delayed it so long for any other reason.
Inafune only would have served to benefit from releasing it sooner and raking in the money from it sooner. He delayed it specifically so that he could get the online working. That's more than can be said of Microsoft with the fucking Master Chief Collection. Rock Band 4 didn't even have online on release.
And a lot of people probably don't care about the online anyway, but he apparently wants the game to be fully functional on release.
