it was a fad, just like modern war. the rage right now is near future cyberpunky. just wait 5 more years until activision dig up hexen and turn it into a yearly franchise.
Cause they got over made to the point of nauseam just like modern shooters and space shooters were last gen.
Eventually they'll come back along with platformers. In the mean time we get to experience the same thing but with mobas and sandbox games.
