I actually agree a lot with this. Splatoon doesn't have that much depth to it, and its lack of content certainly isn't helped by the fact that much of it was finished and withheld from release on launch to pretend they had free updates before they actually did have free updates half a year later. It's only now I realize the surprising fact that it's an utterly bland and mediocre game in a genre of one. It manages to be average and not excel at something only it does. I'm impressed.
