No anon, you got it wrong. it would take FIVE BILLION YEARS to explore all the planets. That's like 365 planets a year, so it's far more.

IT'S GONNA BE HELLA EPIC.

Literally going to be like Starbound in 3D. You'll be hyped for basically infinite planets only to find out that you never spend time on any of them and end up just scavenging bullshit. Half the planets will be literal color swaps and the creatures will become oddly recognizable as you travel onwards.

>Tell me again how this game isnt gonna be GOTY?

It'll be like modern cable television: literally hundreds of thousands of channels, but nothing to fucking watch.

You'll go through maybe 20, 30, maybe even a 100 planets and then never touch the game again.

You might get some devoted players who boot up the game and tour through a dozen or so planets a week, but in the end there's just nothing to fucking do.

If they want replayabilty they can't just focus on "procedural generation" and "EXPLORATION" there has to be something to fucking do with all this.

Personally?
I want Alien Bounties, Fishing, Crafting, I want to set up a zoo or something.
Lets see some INTERACTION thrown in that EXPLORATION and maybe we'll have something to talk about.

You ever play starbound. Imagine no mans sky but 2d. Literally same random generated planets and animals but for all that the game play was shallow and boring after a few hours. In Minecraft you're free to do what you want with the world. You can shape it and build on it all you desire and there's multiplayer so you and friends can shape it together. Hell, you can even install some very simplistic plugins for ingame economy and player housing as well as PVP game modes.

In No Man's Sky you can fly around some recolored planets and gather some minerals.

Don't forget when the police come to kill you for mining too many resources. Galactic Greenpeace already took every planet's exploration virginity.

The only difference between NMS and other exploration games like Myst is that NMS has RNG backgrounds.

This is the entire point of NMS that people seem to miss. Its a niche game for those of us who want to explore and find shit. This isnt your EvE 2.0 universe domination wankfest shit.

What are you expecting to find? After the first 2 hours of gameplay, what do you think you're going to be seeing that's going to keep you interested?
>>
>>336314929
Yes. It has combat, trading, mining, uograding, exploration, object and game world destruction (can shoot big holes in the ground that lead to cave systems, or just dig a hidey hole), NPCs, quests, and more content being added after release. The devs want to add things that players really desire layer on. They've said if there's a big enough demand for things after launch, like construction and multiplayer, they will add them in as best they can.

Maybe that's true, unless there's a way to collaborate locations. Seeing people come together to form their own little territories would be incredibly interesting. Players in a galaxy as vast as this going not the extra mile, but extra lightyears to cooperate would be something beautiful.

You're simultaneously acknowledging it's such a huge game there's no way you'll see everything, whilst complaining all the game play videos have been showing similar things from 2 or 3 separate characters?

It's random. You could be the one guy who starts on the planet with all the most rare resources and upgrade your shit immediately to explore or do whatever, or you could be the guy who spawns on a nothing world with the worst resources and die 20 times within 10 mins, or anything in between.

It just so happens the planets they spawned on in the game play videos had aliens on them.

Noctis.
>>
>>336318946
Yes, you do. Name one video game that isn't just a repetitive number stacker.

ALL video games are just repetitive number stackers. You do an action over and over and over to stack the highest number you can. Whether that's resources, or money, or XP, or loot, or game score. 90% of games are ways to kill people over and over and over for a higher number. Does it matter that you're killing people in different ways?

Please, name ONE actual video game, where the objective has nothing to do with completing a task many times over for a higher number.

Until then, why are you mad that people enjoy this particular method of stacking numbers vs your preferred method?
