healers doing DPS is META in FF14. Not maximizing your damage AND healing in FF14 is playing poorly, or lazy. A healer that do dps, especially in lower level dungeons when there is barely any healing needed at all, can reduce considerably the time it takes to clear the dungeon.

Oh, definitely. You don't send a healer in hoping for max DPS on a newly-acquired dungeon. They can play safe until they FEEL safe. Then they can work on cutting the heals and replacing them with damage. It's a good process to watch a friend go through.

You should be using Stone. In low level dungeons you can get through some pulls without healing your tank at all if you actually contribute damage. In mid level dungeons Divine Seal + Regen and then going ham with Cleric Stance and Holy is enough to clear pulls with very little active healing needed. In high level dungeons you add Asylum on top of that and you still don't need to do very much active healing and when you do, you just get out of Cleric Stance to pop Tetragrammaton and then go right back Cleric Stance. Presence of Mind combined with Holy fucking melts trash and is effectively mitigating all damage until the enemies become immune to your stuns.
In short, your party members aren't shitters for asking you to pull your on weight - you're the shitter for thinking an Aero here and there is all the dps you should contribute as a healer.

As a DRG main that ability accounts for most of my aoe related deaths. The fact that it freezes you until the animation is done is why you see some DRGs get dropped. There is no worse feeling than using jump and an AOE shows up literally right after you use it.

You're literally at the 2/3 point of the main storyexpansion NOT included. There's a lot more to go. Clearing level 50 dungeons gets you Poetics tomestones, which you can swap in Mor Dhona for high ilvl level 50 gear. A couple pieces of that will be plenty to carry you through the minimum ilvl requirements for the main scenario.
